Gautam Adani visits Ram Temple in Ayodhya on Hanuman Jayanti

Gautam Adani visits Ayodhya's Ram Temple on Hanuman Jayanti, calls it a symbol of India's unity, and pledges AI lab support for a traditional gurukul.

"The life of Shri Ram is a symbol of propriety, compassion, and duty. - Gautam Adani"

Ayodhya, April 2

Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani on Thursday visited Ayodhya on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti and offered prayers at the Shri Ram Temple along with his family.

He was accompanied by his wife, Priti Adani, elder son Karan Adani and daughter-in-law Paridhi Adani.

In his statement on X, Gautam Adani said, "I had the good fortune to visit the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya Ji and receive the blessings of Lord Shri Ram."

"The life of Shri Ram is a symbol of propriety, compassion, and duty, and his ideals continuously inspire us to move forward on the path of righteousness and truth. On the sacred occasion of Hanuman Jayanti, coming here to this holy land with my family brought boundless satisfaction to my heart. May Lord Shri Ram and Bajrangbali bless India with unity, courage, and prosperity," he added.

According to a press release, describing the darshan as one of "extreme emotion and pride," he positioned the shrine as more than a religious landmark, highlighting it as a symbol of India's cultural continuity, unity and rising self-confidence, while invoking the ideals of Lord Ram, honesty, duty and service, as guiding principles for the nation's journey ahead.

Following the temple visit, Adani proceeded to Shri Nishulk Gurukul Mahavidyalaya, where he interacted with students and faculty and observed a learning environment where discipline, inquiry and values come together to preserve and transmit India's civilisational knowledge systems.

The Mahavidyalaya, established in 1935 by Swami Tyaganand and inspired by the principles of the Arya Samaj, provides free education to students.

Addressing the gathering, Adani said, "When learning is rooted in values, it does not just shape individuals, it shapes the future of a nation. Our responsibility is to carry these traditions forward while preparing for the opportunities of tomorrow."

He emphasised the urgency of preserving India's knowledge systems even as the country accelerates into an AI-driven future.

He affirmed that the Adani Foundation, the social welfare and development arm of the Adani Group, will support the gurukul ecosystem by enabling a convergence of tradition and technology through an AI-enabled laboratory.

While I respect his faith and the temple visit, I can't help but feel this is also a powerful PR move. The timing, the statement about national unity, the visit to the gurukul... it all feels very strategically planned to align with a certain narrative. Just my two cents.

The support for the gurukul is the real story here. Free education based on our ancient systems is invaluable. Promising an AI lab is a fantastic step to make that traditional knowledge relevant for the future. More industrialists should invest in such institutions.

Interesting to read about this. As someone from outside India, it's fascinating to see how spirituality, business, and philanthropy are so interwoven in the public discourse here. The concept of a gurukul getting an AI upgrade is uniquely Indian and forward-thinking.

Hanuman Jayanti at Ayodhya is a special time. Glad he took his family. The pictures must be beautiful. More than anything, his words about Ram's ideals guiding the nation are what we need to hear from all leaders, not just political ones. Dharma above all.

Actions speak louder than words. The commitment to support the gurukul with an AI lab through the Adani Foundation is a concrete, positive step. Hope this model is replicated. Preserving our knowledge systems is crucial for a truly *Atmanirbhar Bharat*.
