Four parks to be named after Syama Prasad Mookerjee, says Rajasthan CM

Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma paid floral tributes to eminent nationalist thinker, educationist and statesman Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee on the occasion of his birth anniversary at the CM's residence on Monday.
Marking the occasion, he announced that four major parks across Rajasthan would be named after Dr Mookerjee and memorials dedicated to his life, ideals and contribution to nation-building would be established at these locations.
The Chief Minister said Dr Mookerjee's unwavering commitment to national unity, integrity and public service continues to inspire generations and urged the youth to imbibe his ideals and actively contribute towards building a developed India and a developed Rajasthan.
Making the announcement, the Chief Minister said Woodland Park in Jaipur, Central Park in Vivek Vihar (Jodhpur), the park at Ramchandrapura Atwal Nagar (Kota), and the park in the Sector-12 Scheme area (Udaipur) would be named after Dr Mookerjee. He added that memorials highlighting his life, ideals and invaluable contribution to the nation would also be developed at these parks so that visitors, especially the younger generation, could draw inspiration from his legacy.
The Chief Minister said Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee devoted his entire life to the service of the nation and worked tirelessly to strengthen India's unity and integrity. Guided by the spirit of "Nation First", he upheld the values of patriotism, selfless public service and national integration. His vision, courage and spirit of sacrifice, CM Sharma said, remain a source of inspiration for the country and continue to guide citizens in their efforts towards nation-building.
Describing the initiative as a tribute to one of India's distinguished nation-builders, the Chief Minister said naming public parks after Dr Mookerjee and establishing memorials there would help preserve his legacy and acquaint future generations with his ideals.
These memorials would serve as spaces where people can learn about his life and contributions while reinforcing the values of unity, service and dedication to the nation.
Calling upon the people of Rajasthan, particularly the youth, the Chief Minister urged them to imbibe Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee's ideals and translate them into action by contributing actively to the vision of a Viksit Bharat and a Viksit Rajasthan.

Naming parks after leaders is fine, but where is the money coming from? We have potholes in our roads and schools without benches. Priorities, please! 🤔

I appreciate the sentiment, but these announcements often remain on paper. Let's see the actual memorials and maintenance first. Also, why only four parks? Spread the message wider!
Interesting move. I've read about Dr Mookerjee's role in India's partition politics. Naming parks after him will spark curiosity among young people. Hope local schools take students there for history lessons.
