Glad no one was hurt but this is a wake up call for all of us living in congested areas like Majlis Park. We need better fire exits and everyone should have a basic fire extinguisher at home. MCD should also ensure illegal wiring is checked. 🙏
Major fire but zero casualties - relief on that front. But I'm noticing a pattern this summer. So many house fires in Delhi are due to short circuits in ACs and coolers. Why doesn't the government run a public awareness campaign about electrical load? Prevention is better than five fire tenders.
I'm from the UK but visiting Delhi right now - this happened literally 2 blocks from my relative's place. The firefighters were remarkably fast, I saw them arrive within minutes of the call. Respect to them, working in this heat in full gear. No injuries is amazing. 🔥
Thank God nobody got injured. But I have to say, the article lacks critical detail - what was the cause of fire? Was it electrical short-circuit or gas leak? Public deserve to know so we can take precautions. Also, hope the family has insurance, property damage can be devastating.
I live in the neighborhood. The narrow lanes in Majlis Park make it so difficult for emergency vehicles. The fact that 5 tenders managed to reach and control the fire within an hour is commendable. But seriously, local authorities need to clear the encroachments on roads. Safety first!
