Rajasthan Chief Secretary V. Srinivas and Director General of Police Rajiv Kumar Sharma on Monday inspected the Cyber Crime Police Station at the Jaipur Police Commissionerate and reviewed preparedness and measures being undertaken to combat cybercrime.

Srinivas said the initial stage is critical in cases of cyber fraud and stressed that prompt action must begin immediately upon receipt of a complaint to secure defrauded funds through effective coordination among the police, banking institutions and other concerned agencies.

He directed officials to strengthen technical capabilities and rapid-response mechanisms further to prevent and combat cybercrime.

The Chief Secretary sought detailed information on the entire process followed at the Cyber Crime Police Station, from the receipt and registration of complaints to the filing of FIRs, collection and analysis of digital evidence, and the progress of investigations.

He also reviewed the technical resources available for cybercrime investigations and the proficiency of personnel.

Srinivas directed officials to ensure the availability of necessary resources and further strengthen arrangements for regular training and capacity-building programmes.

During his inspection of the Abhay Command Centre, Jaipur Police Commissioner Sachin Mittal briefed him on the functioning of the 1930 and 112 call centres and the action being taken on complaints received through these channels.

Srinivas directed officials to expedite every stage of the cyber-fraud response process, particularly the immediate scrutiny of banking transactions, identification of suspicious accounts, necessary interventions and tracing of the money trail.

He stressed the need for closer coordination with banking institutions. He called for regular analysis of the time elapsed between receipt of a complaint and action taken on the concerned bank account.

He noted that timely intervention significantly increases the likelihood of securing victims' funds.

During the visit, the Chief Secretary also inspected the Investigation Branch of the Cyber Crime Police Station at the Commissionerate.

Director General of Police Rajiv Kumar Sharma said efforts to combat cybercrime are being continuously strengthened through modern technology, trained personnel, rapid-response mechanisms and effective coordination among the police and other concerned agencies.

He said information on protection against emerging methods of cyber fraud is being disseminated through various channels to keep citizens alert and informed.

Sharma directed officials to ensure time-bound action at every stage, from receipt of a complaint and registration of an FIR to securing the defrauded funds and completing the investigation.

Senior officers and personnel of the Jaipur Police Commissionerate were present on the occasion, including Additional Director General of Police (Cyber Crime) V.K. Singh, Special Commissioner of Police Om Prakash, Additional Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Ajay Singh, Deputy Inspector General of Police Kunwar Rashtradeep, Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic and Administration) Pradeep Mohan Sharma, and Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Rameshwar Singh.
