4.3 is moderate, but at a depth of only 10 km, it could have been felt on the coasts of Odisha or Andhra. Did anyone in Vizag or Puri feel it? The NCS is doing a good job with timely updates on X.

Interesting data point. The article mentions a similar 4.4 magnitude quake in December in a slightly different location. Is this part of a new seismic pattern? More research funding is needed for oceanic seismology in India.

These frequent tremors in the Bay are a bit worrying, yaar. We have the Andaman & Nicobar Islands there. Hope all is well with our jawans and citizens on the islands. Jai Hind!

The report is clear with the lat-long and depth. Good to see precise information from the authorities. However, I wish mainstream news would explain what this means for tsunami risk, if any, instead of just repeating the bulletin.

Early morning quake! Thankfully it was mild and underwater. Nature reminding us of its power. Stay safe, everyone on the eastern coast. 🌊
