Dwayne Johnson confesses to stealing prop from 'Jumanji: Open World'

Hollywood star Dwayne Johnson stole the late superstar Robin Williams' dice from the upcoming film 'Jumanji: Open World' and then lied about having it.
The 54-year-old actor previously revealed the game piece he wears around his neck as Dr. Xander 'Smolder' Bravestone in the upcoming film paid homage to the late screen legend because he had used it in the original 1995 Jumanji film.
He told people.com: "The last prop that I took from set was the dice that I wore in Jumanji. That is one half of a pair of dice that they used in the original, OG Jumanji. There's a big scene where the dice are slow rolling, and it's slow motion and it's so dramatic. One half of those dice - Die? Dice? - my character wears in the film.
"And I took that home. Props, they're always amazing, but you gotta give that back."
Crew members asked Johnson to return the souvenir, and he moved quickly to change the subject, reports femalefirst.co.uk.
He said: "They were like, 'Hey DJ, do you have the...?' And I was like, 'Nah, I gave it - I don't - ah, I got to go.'"
The star also confessed to taking Maui's magical fishhook from the live action Moana film, but there were multiple versions of that particular prop so he avoided getting into trouble.
Earlier this year, Johnson paid an emotional tribute to Robin Williams as the cast of the new Jumanji movie gathered at CinemaCon to reveal the film's full title.
Speaking at the Sony Pictures event at Las Vegas' Caesars Palace, he said: "This whole franchise would not have started or happened or kicked off in this really beautiful way without one man, and that's Robin Williams."
Discussing the nod to the comedy star in the upcoming movie, he said: "If you don't know already, it's one half of the original dice that was used in the original Jumanji Robin, as we like to say, this one's for you."
He also showed off the "Easter egg" nod to Robin Williams, who took his own life in 2014 at the age of 63, when filming started on Jumanji: OPen World.
Speaking in November, he said in an Instagram video: "Little day one of Jumanji excitement. That was cool. As you see, a little easter egg for Dr. Bravestone. This is the dice from the original Jumanji with Robin Williams, as a show of respect. And a way of honouring Robin and this entire franchise that he started as we film our very last Jumanji. Big finale. Here we go, let's shoot!"

Honestly, I think this is a bit silly for a Hollywood star. 😅 The guy has millions and he's stealing props? In India, we'd say "sharam karo" (have some shame). But I get it's an emotional connection - Robin Williams was a legend. The dice being half of the original pair is a nice touch though. Could've just asked for it properly instead of sneaking it out! 😂
Classic Dwayne Johnson! 😂 The man has the charm to get away with anything. Taking Maui's fishhook from Moana AND the Jumanji dice? What a legend! Meanwhile, in Indian film industry, our stars would face a PR disaster for such things. The way he changed the subject when crew asked - "Ah, I got to go" - peak Bollywood style escape! 😆 Respect for Robin Williams though, that was classy.
I get the sentiment but stealing is stealing, even for a good cause. 😕 The tribute to Robin Williams is beautiful though - the way Johnson talks about him at CinemaCon, you can feel the genuine admiration. In India, we understand respect for elders and legends, and this is exactly that. Hopefully the crew lets him keep it as a memento! 🙏
