Dharmendra Pradhan reviews CBSE processes, assures swift resolution of student issues

New Delhi, May 28

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Thursday chaired a high-level review meeting at the Central Board of Secondary Education headquarters in New Delhi to review issues related to the evaluation and post-result processes of Class 12 examinations.

During the meeting, the Minister directed officials to take all necessary measures to resolve the issues faced by students in a timely, transparent, and amicable manner, according to a statement from the Ministry of Education.

He reiterated the government's commitment to ensuring transparency, accountability, and a student-centric examination system, while assuring students and parents that all genuine concerns would be addressed effectively and expeditiously, it added.

Minister Pradhan also reviewed the progress of post-result services, focusing on strengthening student support systems, improving the evaluation and monitoring framework, enhancing the CBSE digital platform, and making examination-related services more accessible and efficient for students.

Nearly 18 lakh students had appeared for the Class 12 examinations this year, which involved around 98 lakh answer sheets and nearly 40 crore scanned pages, officials informed Pradhan.

So far, approximately four lakh students have accessed around 11 lakh scanned answer sheets through the portal, they added.

Reiterating that students' interests remain the government's foremost priority, Pradhan assured strict action against any lapses and stressed that no negligence, whether within or outside the system, would be tolerated.

The Minister also took note of reports related to login access issues, heavy server load, and payment-related difficulties on the post-examination services portal.

An expert technical team comprising professors from IIT Madras and specialists in digital systems has been tasked with reviewing portal stability, server capacity, login management, and payment gateway integration to ensure seamless, uninterrupted services for students, according to the official statement.

The meeting was attended by Secretary, Department of School Education and Literacy, Sanjay Kumar; CBSE Chairperson Rahul Singh; Director, IIT Madras, Prof. V. Kamakoti; Director, IIT Kanpur; senior officials from the Ministry of Education and Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS); and representatives of public sector banks, including SBI, Indian Bank, Bank of Baroda, and Canara Bank, it added.

A political slugfest has recently broken out over alleged irregularities in the digital evaluation system used by the CBSE for NEET and other examinations.

It involved reported discrepancies in marks and evaluation transparency, raising questions about the integrity of the current process.

As a parent, I appreciate the government's concern but actions speak louder than words. For months we've been hearing about digital reforms and 'student-first' approaches. The NEET controversy showed cracks in the system. Let's see how quickly these IIT experts actually deliver results. 🙏

Interesting to see the Minister taking personal interest. 40 crore scanned pages is massive. Hope they also address the login issues faced by rural students with poor internet connectivity. Digital divide is still a big challenge in India.

A political slugfest on NEET evaluation is concerning. 18 lakh students' futures are at stake. The government should ensure complete transparency — if mistakes happened, they must be corrected without any pressure. Students deserve fair marks, not just political statements. 🤞

Good initiative but the real test will be when students try to access their answer sheets. Last year, many of my friends faced payment gateway issues and couldn't download their scanned copies. IIT experts should also look into simplifying the process for parents who aren't tech-savvy. 🎯

Impressive that banks like SBI and Canara Bank are involved — shows they're taking payment issues seriously. But why only post-result services? The evaluation process itself needs more oversight. Marks discrepancies shouldn't happen in the first place. Accountability starts at the evaluation stage.
