UP CM Yogi Adityanath says flag-hoisting at Shiva Temple in Ayodhya Ram Janmabhoomi complex is a symbol of eternal faith and cultural consciousness.

"This flag-hoisting ceremony, a powerful symbol of eternal faith, self-confidence, and cultural consciousness, binds our heritage, faith, and resolve into a single thread. - Yogi Adityanath"

Lucknow, April 29

The Dharma Dhwaj will be hoisted atop the Shiva Temple within the Ayodhya Ram Janmabhoomi Temple complex on Wednesday, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said.

In an X post, CM Yogi called the flag-hoisting ceremony a "powerful symbol of eternal faith, self-confidence, and cultural consciousness."

"Today, in the beloved city of the epitome of righteousness, Lord Shri Ram--Shri Ayodhya Dham--the sacred ritual of hoisting the Dharma Dhwaj (Flag of the Dharma) will be performed on the pinnacle of the consecrated Shiva temple within the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple complex. This flag-hoisting ceremony, a powerful symbol of eternal faith, self-confidence, and cultural consciousness, binds our heritage, faith, and resolve into a single thread," the Chief Minister wrote.

Earlier on April 11, a flag hoisting ceremony was held at the temple of Lord Ganesh, located within the premises of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple. The ceremony was jointly carried out by key officials responsible for construction and security.

According to the temple trust, L&T Project Director Vinod Mehta, Sujit Das Saha, Ramesh Kumar from Tata Group, Project Director Vinod Shukla, SP Security Balramachari, and Vinay Singh took part in the ceremony.

General Secretary of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, Champat Rai, Trustee Anil Mishra, Gopal Nagarkatte, associated with management, and several other dignitaries were also present on the occasion.

On November 25 last year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat ceremonially hoisted the saffron flag atop the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple's 191-foot-high shikhar in Ayodhya, symbolising the completion of the temple's construction.

The 'Dharma Dhwaj' carried three sacred symbols, Om, the Sun and the Kovidara tree, each representing profound spiritual values rooted in the Sanatan tradition. The right-angled triangular flag measured 10 feet in height and 20 feet in length.

Why is there a need for so many flags and ceremonies? The temple itself is enough. Focus on real issues like education and healthcare instead of symbolism.

Incredible how this temple complex is incorporating so many deities. The Ganesh temple flag hoisting last month and now this—clearly a well-planned spiritual hub. India's cultural revival is inspiring to see from abroad.

The Dharma Dhwaj with its three sacred symbols—Om, Sun, and Kovidara tree—represents the essence of Sanatan dharma. This is not just a flag, it's a statement of our civilizational identity. Well done CM Yogi for honoring our heritage. 🙏

Interesting to see the involvement of L&T and Tata Group in these ceremonies. Shows how corporate India is also embracing cultural symbols. But I wonder if this kind of state-sponsored religiosity is appropriate in a secular country.

Aiyo, so many ceremonies! First the main temple flag by PM Modi and RSS chief, now for Ganesh and Shiva temples. It's like they're celebrating every step. But I'm happy for those who find faith in this—just hope they also focus on helping the poor.
