Patna, April 15

Ahead of Samrat Choudhary taking oath as the Chief Minister of Bihar on Wednesday, Bihar BJP State President Sanjay Saraogi said the state's development trajectory would continue under his leadership following the tenure of former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.

Speaking to ANI, Saraogi said that along with Samrat Choudhary, Vijay Choudhary and Bijendra Prasad Yadav would take oath as Deputy Chief Ministers.

"After the 20-year tenure of former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, today Samrat Choudhary will take oath as the new Chief Minister, and Vijay Choudhary and Bijendra Prasad Yadav as Deputy Chief Ministers. The line of development that Nitish Kumar had drawn will be further advanced under the leadership of Samrat Choudhary," he said.

Earlier on Tuesday, Samrat Choudhary was elected as the Leader of the BJP Legislative Party in Bihar, paving the way for his elevation as Chief Minister following the resignation of Nitish Kumar.

He spoke to ANI following the ceremony, stating, "In my life, the BJP gave me several opportunities to serve."

He assured the party's top leadership og prioritising India's development above everything else.

"We will continue to take up the work of considering India before everything else and considering it the best, and prioritising the party," he said.

Meanwhile, Jan Suraj founder Prashant Kishor on Tuesday alleged that Bihar would now be run from Gujarat, following Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's move to the Rajya Sabha and the emergence of Samrat Choudhary as the new Chief Minister.

"The individual who has become Chief Minister here today, it is not really about the person himself; rather, his 'keys' and 'remote control' will remain in the hands of Amit Shah," he said.

Samrat Choudhary is set to be the first Chief Minister of the BJP in Bihar. He has been working as a political worker for about 30 years, working with the BJP since 2015.

This development comes after the longest-serving CM of Bihar, Nitish Kumar, who has been Chief Minister for the past 21 years, tendered his resignation to Governor Lt Gen Syed Ata Hasnain (Retd) at Lok Bhavan in Patna. He took oath as a Member of the Rajya Sabha on April 10.

Nitish Kumar did build a foundation, especially in roads and law & order. I just hope the new leadership doesn't get caught up in political games and actually delivers on the promise of "advancing" development. We need better schools and hospitals.

Prashant Kishor's comment about the remote control being in Gujarat is worrying. Bihar should be run for Biharis, by Biharis. Hope Choudhary sahab has the autonomy to address our local issues first.

Interesting transition. Stability is key for investment. If the new CM can ensure policy continuity while bringing fresh energy, it could be good for the state's economy. Watching with cautious optimism.

"Considering India before everything else" – This is the right sentiment! But sir, please also consider Bihar before everything else. Our migration problem, agricultural challenges need urgent attention. Jai Bihar! 🇮🇳

30 years as a worker shows dedication. I respect that. But now the test begins. My humble request: improve public transport in Patna and tackle the garbage problem. Small visible changes build big trust.
