"Delivering around 28 lakh LPG cylinders daily, operations remain steady and consistent with normal levels - Indian Oil Corporation"

New Delhi, April 3

Indian Oil Corporation on Friday said that it is delivering around 28 lakh LPG cylinders daily as domestic gas supply across the country remains stable and adequate.

The state-run oil firm said operations remain steady and consistent with normal levels, even amid evolving geopolitical challenges.

IndianOil also reassured consumers that there is no shortage and advised against panic booking or stockpiling.

"IndianOil continues to ensure uninterrupted LPG supply to households across the nation. Delivering around 28 lakh LPG cylinders daily, operations remain steady and consistent with normal levels, even amid evolving geopolitical challenges," said the leading oil marketing company in a post on X.

Nearly 87 per cent of LPG bookings are now made through digital platforms such as SMS and IVRS, with deliveries authenticated via DAC OTP to ensure cylinders reach intended customers, the company informed, adding that it is actively addressing customer concerns through official support channels.

It further clarified that 5 kg FTL cylinders are being continuously supplied by Oil Marketing companies (OMCs) to migrant labourers against valid ID proof to ensure accessibility and ease of distribution.

"Adequate arrangements have been made to maintain steady availability, and there is no disruption in supplies. Hence, there is no need for any concern or panic, as the situation is being closely monitored and managed to meet the requirements effectively," said the oil firm.

"Domestic LPG consumers remain our top priority. Across the country, uninterrupted supply is being ensured through authorised distributors, with strict monitoring to prevent diversion and black marketing. Book your LPG only through official channels and opt for OTP-based delivery for a safe and reliable experience," IndianOil added.

The company advised people not to believe misleading information spreading on social media, adding that filling petrol into bottles or open containers is not only unsafe but also illegal.

Good to hear the official statement. The 5kg cylinder initiative for migrant workers is a thoughtful step. Essential supplies must be accessible to everyone, especially those who move for work.

While the numbers sound reassuring, the ground reality in our semi-urban area is different. Delivery gets delayed by 3-4 days sometimes. Hope the monitoring they talk about reaches all distributors equally.

28 lakh cylinders a day! That's a massive logistical operation. Kudos to the teams on the ground. The digital booking percentage is impressive too. We've come a long way from waiting in line at the distributor's shop.

The warning about not filling petrol in bottles is crucial. Saw some forwards on WhatsApp creating unnecessary fear. People should only trust official channels like SMS or the distributor for booking.

Stable supply is the backbone of a stable kitchen! 🍛 Glad IndianOil is proactively communicating. Hope the prices also remain stable. Ujjwala scheme beneficiaries especially depend on this continuity.
