Delhi: Special camp to be held at all polling stations on Oct 25; 2.5 lakh Form 6 received

New Delhi, Oct 23

The office of the Delhi Chief Electoral Officer will organise a special camp on October 25 at all 14,947 polling stations to help electors, left out during SIR of electoral rolls, to file claims or objections, an official said on Friday, adding that 2.50 lakh Form 6 have been received since August 31.

"Out of around 33 lakh cases of no-mapping/logical discrepancy, around 29.50 lakh cases have been resolved/parked for final roll by EROs/AEROs," the CEO said in a statement regarding SIR notices.

"As on today, 2,50,754 Form-6 have been received from the electors for enrolment in the electoral rolls since the start of the period of claims and objections. Further, 2,12,400 Form-6 were also received prior to draft publication. These forms will be disposed by November 30 as per the due procedure laid down by the ECI," said the statement.

The CEO said that SIR of electoral rolls is also being concurrently audited by 33,226 Booth Level Agents (BLAs) appointed by six recognised national parties in Delhi.

The BLAs are associated with EROs at every stage, and all activities are being shared with the BLAs both at Assembly Constituency and Booth Level, the CEO said in a statement.

"Only few days are left in the period of claims and Objections. All Citizens of Delhi are again requested to check your name in the draft electoral roll, and if name not found in the draft electoral roll, file your claim or objection before October 30," the CEO said in the statement.

The statement said that a special drive for enrolment of left-out electors is also being carried out in accordance with the instructions of the ECI.

"BLOs are visiting localities to ascertain the present status of such electors whose names were there in the pre-SIR roll but who are not included in the current draft electoral roll and facilitate enrolment through Form 6, wherever the person is found to be eligible," it said.

What the report makes clear: A special camp on October 25 will cover all 14,947 polling stations, and claims or objections can be filed until October 30.

Still open: The report does not yet say how many electors remain without a place on the draft roll after the resolved cases.

Another way to look at it: Booth-level agents from six national parties are auditing the process, so the pace of disposal by November 30 is worth watching.
