Delhi Govt launches DTC Route 753 Extension bus service to improve Central-West connectivity

New Delhi, July 6

Delhi Transport Corporation has introduced bus service, Route 753 Ext, on an experimental basis, to cater for the needs of commuters plying between Central Delhi and several residential areas in West Delhi.

The new route will provide direct bus connectivity for residents of Janakpuri, Vikaspuri, Hastsal, Shiv Vihar, Uttam Nagar, Hari Nagar and adjoining areas to Mori Gate, Kashmere Gate, Old Delhi Railway Station and New Delhi Railway Station, an official statement said.

Delhi Transport Minister Pankaj Kumar Singh said the launch of the new route reflects the government's commitment to making public transport more accessible and commuter-friendly.

"The launch of Route No. 753 Extension is an important step towards our commitment to providing accessible and convenient public transport to every citizen of Delhi. The new route will improve daily connectivity between Central and West Delhi while also offering better transport facilities to members of the Purvanchal community travelling to Bihar and eastern Uttar Pradesh through the city's major interstate transport hubs," Singh said.

The Minister said the Delhi government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, is continuously expanding public transport services to ensure that residents have access to a safe, convenient and citizen-centric transport system.

He added that the newly introduced route would provide residents of Janakpuri, Vikaspuri, Hastsal, Shiv Vihar, Uttam Nagar, Hari Nagar and surrounding localities with a direct, affordable and convenient connection to Central Delhi and Mori Gate, easing the daily commute for office-goers, students, senior citizens and other regular passengers.

Hope they run the buses on time and maintain frequency. Delhi's DTC has a habit of announcing new routes but not sticking to schedules. Let's see if this one works properly. 😒

This is great for Purvanchal people who need to go to Anand Vihar ISBT or Old Delhi station for trains to UP/Bihar. Affordable bus instead of auto-rickshaw or cab. Very thoughtful inclusion in the route.

On paper it looks good, but what about the road conditions in Uttam Nagar and Hastsal? The buses will get stuck in traffic daily. Also, no mention of bus stops and shelters. Hope the government looks at infrastructure too.

As a woman who travels to CP daily, I'm happy to have a direct bus option. Safer and cheaper than shared autos. Hope they maintain cleanliness and have women's seats near the driver. 😊

Experimental basis? Why not permanent? DTC should just make it regular if they believe in it. Also, the minister says 'Purvanchal community' – it's for everyone! Just call it a bus route for all Delhiites. Good step overall, but implementation matters more.
