New Delhi, Aug 27

On the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, Delhi BJP Mahila Morcha President Archana Gupta led colleagues in tying Rakhis to Delhi BJP President and Union Minister of State Harsh Malhotra.

The women of the Mahila Morcha tied a Rakhi to Malhotra and wished him a healthy, long life.

Gupta said that in just 20 months, the BJP government led by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, which came to power in Delhi after 27 years, has not only improved the upkeep of Delhi but has also brought meaningful changes in the lives of women by implementing free LPG cylinders on the occasion of Teej, the Vidya Vahini Yojana, and now the Delhi Lakshmi Yojana.

On the occasion, Malhotra expressed gratitude to all the women of the Mahila Morcha and said that Raksha Bandhan is a festival of Indian culture that reflects not only the love between brothers and sisters but also the commitment to responsibility, respect, and protection for one another.

He said that for the BJP, respecting and empowering women is not merely a political issue but a social responsibility.

Malhotra said the BJP government in Delhi has taken an important step towards women's economic empowerment by implementing the Delhi Lakshmi Yojana.

Under this scheme, eligible women receive financial assistance of Rs. 2,500 per month, he said, adding that the scheme is an important initiative to make women in Delhi financially stronger and boost their confidence.

He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Central Government has prioritised the dignity, safety, and self-reliance of women.

Taking this vision forward, the BJP government in Delhi is also continuously taking important decisions in the interest of women. The Delhi Lakshmi Yojana is an example of the BJP government's commitment to providing women with real financial assistance through welfare schemes rather than merely making electoral promises.

Malhotra said the Rs 2,500 monthly assistance will help millions of eligible women in Delhi meet their families' essential needs. This financial support will help women reduce their dependence on others for day-to-day needs and strengthen their ability to make financial decisions.
