I'm glad to see our diplomatic outreach continuing with Singapore, Canada, and Seychelles. The Shangri-La Dialogue is a key platform for India's strategic interests. However, I wish these meetings would lead to more concrete outcomes, especially in maritime security in the Indian Ocean region. Still, a productive visit overall.
Interesting to see the Defence Secretary engaging with Canada and Seychelles as well. The India-Canada defence cooperation angle is particularly notable given recent geopolitical tensions. Good to see diplomacy moving forward. Singapore remains a key partner for India in ASEAN.
The tribute at Kranji War Memorial is a reminder of how many Indian soldiers fought and died far from home. Thousands of Indian troops served in Singapore during WWII. This gesture, though symbolic, means a lot to families who still remember those stories. Jai Hind 🙏
