A violent storm in Patna has left three people dead and five others injured, prompting a massive multi-departmental emergency response to clear routes and restore essential services, officials said on Saturday.

Patna District Magistrate Thiyagarajan S M confirmed that teams from the Municipal Corporation, Forest, and Electricity departments are working alongside engineers to reopen blocked routes, though officials warned that full recovery may take time due to the scale of the destruction.

Traffic is being cleared, and the routes have largely been restored, although complete clearance will take some time due to the severity of the storm. This storm was terrible! 135 kmph winds in Patna? That's no joke. I hope the administration focuses on long-term solutions, not just quick fixes. Building earthquake-resistant homes is all good, but what about storm-proofing? Our government should also check if old buildings and trees are maintained properly because many accidents happen due to falling branches. Safety first in Bihar, please! 🛠️

My heart goes out to the victims' families. Losing someone in a sudden natural disaster is unimaginable. 🙏 I am glad the government provided Rs 4 lakhs immediately, but I also hope they conduct awareness campaigns as promised. In rural Bihar, many people don't know how to build safe homes. This storm is a wake-up call. And yes, more trees need to be trimmed near power lines to prevent electrocution. Stay safe, Bihar! 🌧️

Just saw the visuals from Patna. Roads blocked, debris everywhere. It's a mess. But I appreciate that the DM and teams cleared traffic fast. The new wing for construction standards is a good idea, but police and local bodies must enforce it strictly. In Bihar, many builders cut corners. Also, let's not ignore that 9 people died across the state. Every life matters. We need stronger infrastructure. 💪

As someone from Patna, I can say this storm was really scary. I was at home when it hit, and the winds were like a freight train. The electricity department is working hard, but power cuts are still there in some areas. I hope the administration also focuses on clearing drainage so that waterlogging doesn't worsen the situation later. Timely action is needed, but let's not forget the victims. Rest in peace to those lost. 🌈
