DDA records strong housing sales in Q1-FY 2026-27, Narela contributing 90 per cent of total number of sales figures
New Delhi, July 16
Continuous focus on re-imagining the Sub-Cities developed by the Delhi Development Authority, on the part of the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, Taranjit Singh Sandhu, has resulted in the Authority recording strong housing sales in the first quarter of FY 2026-27.
According to an official release, this is clearly indicative of growing public confidence in its housing schemes.
Driven by robust demand for housing across all categories, DDA sold 1,284 flats during the quarter while generating Rs 1,020 crores in revenue.
Sub city Narela emerged as the biggest contributor to this success, with 1,153 flats sold during the quarter, accounting for nearly 90% of the total sales, which shows the increasing attractiveness of Narela as a preferred residential destination. This growth is being supported by DDA's continuous infrastructure development efforts, including key projects such as the Urban Extension Road-II (UER-II) and the upcoming Rithala-Narela-Kundli Metro corridor, which are significantly improving connectivity.
The DDA realised Rs 1,020 crores in revenue during the first quarter of FY 2026-27, registering a significant increase over the corresponding period of FY 2025-26, when DDA generated Rs 462 crores in revenue.
The sales were achieved through DDA's ongoing housing schemes, namely DDA Karmayogi Awaas Yojana, DDA Nagrik Awaas Yojana, and DDA Towering Heights, East Delhi Hub, Karkardooma (FCFS), offering housing options across different income groups. These schemes have been extended till July 31, 2026, on first come first serve basis, and since the schemes are completely online, buyers can purchase flats sitting at their home.
These flats are freehold, ready to move, and sample flats are also available for buyers to take informed decision.
The strong response was witnessed across all housing segments. During the quarter, 336 EWS, 322 LIG, 435 MIG and 191 HIG flats were sold. The MIG category accounted for the highest share at 34%, the release said.
The EWS category in Narela witnessed an almost complete sell-out, underscoring the strong trust of people in DDA-constructed homes and demand for affordable housing in the area.
The encouraging quarterly performance builds upon DDA's record housing sales during FY 2025-26, with a total of 11,764 flats sold across various housing schemes. Notably, over 90% of these sales were in the affordable housing segment.
The sustained success of DDA's housing schemes has been driven by a series of institutional and people-centric reforms. DDA has introduced multiple housing schemes simultaneously to cater to the housing needs of different sections of society, expanded access to affordable housing finance through multiple lending options, strengthened public support through dedicated helpdesks and digital platforms including the WhatsApp chatbot, and intensified awareness and outreach initiatives to ensure that information about DDA's housing schemes reaches potential homebuyers across Delhi.
These measures have collectively enhanced the efficiency, transparency and accessibility of DDA's housing delivery framework, making home ownership easier and more accessible.
DDA remains committed to providing quality and affordable housing through transparent, technology-driven, and people-centric initiatives. Building on the strong response to its housing schemes, the Authority will continue to introduce innovative policies, strengthen service delivery, enhance digital governance and contribute to the planned, inclusive and sustainable development of Delhi.
