Bhubaneswar, Sep 14

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Monday urged families across the state to light an earthen lamp at their homes, temples or other prominent places on the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 76th birth anniversary.

Taking to his X handle, CM Majhi said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had devoted five decades to selfless service and 25 years to dedicated leadership as Chief Minister and Prime Minister, dedicating his life to building a strong, prosperous and self-reliant India.

"On 17th September, I appeal to every family in Odisha to light an 'Ashirwad Ka Diya' at home, in a temple or at a prominent place. Let every diya carry our love, gratitude and prayers for Modi Ji's long, healthy and blessed life," the Chief Minister appealed.

Majhi also requested the beneficiaries of various welfare schemes under the state and Union governments to share a message of greetings and pray for the long life and good health of PM Modi. He also appealed to the beneficiaries to upload and share photos and videos of their 'Ashirwad Ka Diya' moments on social media platforms.

"If you have been touched by a welfare scheme, let your blessings become a heartfelt message of gratitude. Share your moments of 'Ashirwad Ka Diya' and let our collective blessings illuminate the path of a Viksit Bharat," urged CM Majhi.

It is worth noting that on the occasion of PM Modi's 76th birthday on September 17, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is going to launch a state-wide month-long 'Seva Sankalp Abhiyan', under which several major programmes such as the 'Seva Jyoti Yatra', 'Namo Seva Gatha', 'Swapnara Bharat', 'Paribartanara Kahani', 'Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra', mass tree plantation and blood donation camps will be organised.

As part of the 'Seva Sankalp Abhiyan', the 'Ashirbadara Deepa' programme is going to be organised across Odisha on September 17.

The state BJP is planning to transform the 'Seva Sankalp Abhiyan' (Campaign of Service and Resolve) programme into a broad-based mass movement in Odisha, with active participation of people from all sections of society.
