Christina Applegate points to the source of her Covid-19 infection

Christina Applegate reveals she's certain she contracted Covid-19 at a 'Married With Children' cast reunion event in Los Angeles.

"I think that the people had fun, and it was nice to be with my family - Christina Applegate"

Los Angeles, Feb 11

Hollywood actress Christina Applegate seems to have cracked the origins of her Covid-19 infection. The actress has shared that she is "certain" she contracted the bug at the 'Married With Children' reunion.

The 54-year-old actress teamed up with former co-stars Ed O'Neill, Katey Sagal and David Faustino for the An Evening with the Buntys event two weeks ago. She said that she thinks she picked up the virus because she didn't wear a mask and there were "so many germs" in the room, reports 'Female First UK'.

Speaking to Jamie Lynn Sigler on their MeSsy podcast, she said, "It was at the Wiltern theatre in Los Angeles. A couple thousand folk there".

"I just tried to be funny. You know me. Questions were asked. There was a moderator, this guy who used to do our warm-up, actually, in our audience. And it went on for, it felt like a few hours, but it wasn't, it was probably an hour", she added.

As per 'Female First UK', Christina, who was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) in 2021, enjoyed the evening, though it was exhausting for her.

She said, "I was really tired, sweet Jamie, you know me, when the MS hits that fit, like, it was so late at night. It didn't start till 7:30, dude. I know you're, like, laughing at me, but to me, that's, like, the worst ever. You're [supposed to be] in the (pyjamas), and you got the stuff on, at 7:30, you're not supposed to be in hair and make-up and in front of thousands of people answering questions. I don't know. It was great. I think that the people had fun, and it was nice to be with my family".

The actress, who has 15-year-old Sadie with husband Martyn LeNoble, previously shared that she misses the person she was before she "got sick".

Speaking on the Let's Talk Off Camera with Kelly Ripa podcast, Christina said, "I don't get up in the morning with that, I get up because of her".

"She's the reason I'm still here and trying. "But she did say to me, and we got into a big thing the other day, and sorry Sadie, but it has to be said. She said, 'I missed who you were before you got sick'. That is just like a knife to the heart because I miss who I was before I got sick too. Very much", she added.

A reunion after so many years and this happens! Shows you can't let your guard down, even at happy events. In India also, we saw cases spike after festivals and big gatherings. Masking up is still important, especially for vulnerable people.

"It didn't start till 7:30, dude." Haha, I can relate! My parents think any event after 7 PM is a night out. But on a serious note, her honesty about living with MS is brave. More celebrities should use their platform to talk about chronic illnesses.

While I sympathize with her health struggles, I do think there's a lesson here about personal responsibility. If you have a serious condition and are in a crowded theatre, maybe wearing a mask is a simple, sensible choice? Just saying.

The part about her daughter's comment hit hard. As a parent, you never want your child to see you as diminished. But kids are honest. It's a painful but important conversation for any family dealing with long-term illness. Wishing them both peace.

Married With Children was iconic! Shame the reunion had this downside. Hope she recovers quickly from Covid. The pandemic really changed how we view public spaces and "germs" forever, hasn't it?
