Chile is one of the few Latin American countries we have consistent trade with. Their copper and lithium are crucial for our electronics and EV industry. But why is the government always so slow in finalising these pacts? Chile-India CEPA negotiations have been going on for years now. We need quicker execution!

Good initiative, but let's not forget the human rights angle. Chile has been in news for protests and inequality issues. While economic ties are important, India should also engage diplomatically on democratic values and ensure our trade doesn't support exploitation. Balanced diplomacy needed!

Finally some good news on trade front! 🌟 The focus on pharmaceuticals and digital services opens huge doors for Indian startups and generic medicine exports. Chile's market is small but stable. Hope our dairy and agriculture sector isn't hurt by cheap imports though - government must protect our farmers!

Chile is India's gateway to Latin America. But I wish our government would also focus on domestic manufacturing instead of just signing trade deals. Make in India needs more teeth. Still, any step towards diversifying our trade partners is welcome given the geopolitical uncertainties.

Business roundtables are good, but what about the common man? Trade agreements often benefit big corporates more than ordinary citizens. I hope the government ensures that the benefits trickle down to create jobs and lower prices for essentials. Also, environmental safeguards in mining should be non-negotiable. 🌱
