New Delhi, Sep 15
Marking Prime Minister Narendra Modi's birthday on September 17 and the completion of 25 years of his public service, the Bharatiya Janata Party announced a special month-long campaign from September 17 to October 7, called the 'Seva Sankalp Abhiyaan'. Various bodies associated with the party will participate in the nationwide campaign through various activities and rallies, including the 'Seva Yatra', which will span 20 days across 40 km and cover nearly 1,159 villages.
Various leaders shared how the month-long event will take shape.
BJP National Coordinator V.D. Sharma said that "on the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi completing 25 years of public service, the BJP will commence the 'Seva Yatra', which will begin on September 17, on Prime Minister's birthday, till October 7. The Yatra will connect with the masses with the motto of service."
Seva Yatris will begin their journey in 10 groups of 25 individuals each. As many as 250 such groups have been formed, of which 10 groups will start from Kashi (Uttar Pradesh).
Sharma added that "the inauguration session will be attended by major leaders such as Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Prime Minister Modi himself. Several Chief Ministers and Deputy Chief Ministers of all BJP-ruled states, among others, will also be present, including Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha President Hemang Joshi."
BJP National Co-ordinator added that the rally will span 20 days across 40 km and will cover nearly 1,159 villages.
Sharma said there will be discourse among the youth and various cleanliness drives throughout.
Trees will also be planted during the 'Seva Yatra' under Seva Vatika programme.
In Jammu and Kashmir, BJP MP Sat Sharma said that the party has decided to light at least 75 diyas at every booth as part of the 'Seva Sankalp Abhiyaan'.
He also noted that, owing to Prime Minister Modi, the atmosphere has shifted in the state after the abrogation of Article 370.
"We pray that Jammu and Kashmir continues to move in that direction," he added.
BJP Yuva Morcha National President Hemang Joshi said that the Seva Yatra is not a promotional campaign. Rather, it is to tout the government's various policies for the citizens of rural India and how the youth can participate. This is not about politics. Joshi urged the youth to join the rally.
