New Delhi, July 3

Bharatiya Janata Party National President Nitin Nabin will embark on a two-day organisational tour of Jammu & Kashmir on July 6 and 7, aimed at strengthening the party's outreach and consolidating its presence across the Union Territory.

On July 6, Nabin will be in Jammu, where he will attend a commemorative programme at the Grand Palace to mark the birth anniversary of Shyama Prasad Mookerjee, the founder of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh.

The event, expected to draw senior leaders and grassroots workers, will pay tribute to Mookerjee's legacy and his role in shaping the ideological foundation of the party.

During his stay in Jammu, the BJP President will chair a meeting of the party's core committee to review organisational matters and deliberate on the party's strategy in the region.

He will also interact with party workers to assess ongoing activities and strengthen coordination between different organisational units.

On July 7, Nabin will travel to Kashmir, where he is scheduled to hold meetings with BJP legislators and Members of Parliament. These discussions will focus on organisational issues and the party's future programmes in the Valley.

His engagements are expected to underline the BJP's emphasis on expanding its political footprint and addressing regional concerns.

A key highlight of his Kashmir itinerary will be a "Youth Dialogue," where Nabin will interact with young participants on issues of employment, political participation, and the party's vision for youth engagement.

The dialogue is seen as part of the BJP's broader effort to connect with younger demographics and encourage their involvement in political processes.

The two-day visit underscores the BJP's intent to deepen its organisational roots in J&K while fostering greater coordination among leaders and workers.

By combining commemorative events, strategic meetings, and youth outreach, Nabin's tour is expected to reinforce the party's commitment to strengthening its presence in the Union Territory.

Two days is too short for such an important region. The ground situation in Kashmir is complex - a brief visit won't solve deep-rooted issues like unemployment and political alienation. Hope the Youth Dialogue is more than just a photo op. 🤔

BJP's outreach in J&K is commendable. The party is trying to build from grassroots level. Core committee meetings show they are serious about organisational strength. But real change needs more than just meetings - need to deliver on promises of development and jobs.

Why is BJP so obsessed with grand commemorative events? People in J&K need basic amenities like schools, hospitals, and roads. Spending time at a palace for a birth anniversary while local issues remain unresolved seems tone-deaf.

As a Kashmiri Pandit, I appreciate BJP's consistent focus on J&K. Shyama Prasad Mookerjee gave his life for the cause of one nation one law. But visiting is not enough - the party must ensure safety and rehabilitation for displaced communities. Jai Hind 🇮🇳

Youth dialogue is a step in right direction. Many young Kashmiris feel disconnected from mainstream politics. But BJP needs to listen more than talk - if they want real engagement, they should address issues like internet shutdowns and lack of local employment first.
