BJP MLA Kailash Gahlot's daughter tops CUET UG exam, cites consistency and discipline for success
New Delhi, June 23
Devina Gahlot, daughter of Delhi MLA Kailash Gahlot, who secured All India Rank One in the Common University Entrance Test Undergraduate 2026, said that studying consistently every day is more effective than doing so for long hours at a stretch.
Devina achieved the highest NTA score in the country.
Speaking to IANS, she said: "I am extremely happy. I knew my exam had gone well, but I never expected to secure the All India Rank 1."
Crediting her family and teachers, she said: "This achievement would not have been possible without the support of my family and teachers."
Talking about her initial challenges, Devina said: "There were some difficulties in the beginning as the preparation had to begin right after the board exams. At times, I felt I might not be able to do it. But once I started studying seriously, my confidence built up. Instead of studying for very long hours, it is better to study regularly every day. Revision and taking breaks are also important."
"Consistency and discipline are more important than just studying for long hours," she emphasised.
Devina has a deep interest in literature. She shared: "I love literature. Reading and writing are my hobbies."
She is considering pursuing an Honours degree in English.
Devina's father and BJP MLA Kailash Gahlot shared an emotional post on X celebrating his daughter's achievement.
He said: "With immense pride and gratitude, we share that our younger daughter, Devina Gahlot, has secured All India Rank 1 in CUET (UG ) - 2026, achieving the highest aggregate NTA score in the country. This remarkable achievement reflects her hard work, discipline, perseverance and unwavering commitment to excellence."
The MLA expressed gratitude to his daughter's teachers and mentors for "inspiring her curiosity, nurturing her potential and guiding her", and also mentioned the support of his wife and elder daughter.
Congratulating his daughter, Gahlot added, "Watching your dreams take shape through dedication and hard work has been truly special, and we are immensely proud of you! May you continue to learn, grow and achieve greater heights with humility and purpose."

This is truly commendable. But I wish we could hear more about students who achieve such feats without any political connections. Still, respect to Devina for her hard work.
Consistency over marathon sessions - a lesson we all need to learn! Beautiful that she credited her teachers and family. This is the kind of success story our education system needs. 🌟
Bahut badhiya! Showing that politicians' children can also excel through merit. But let's not forget the many underprivileged kids who win with no resources - they deserve equal recognition.
Impressive achievement! The advice on revision and breaks is spot-on. Many students burn out trying to study non-stop. Hope this inspires more balanced study habits among Indian youth.
As an educator, this warms my heart. She's right - small daily efforts compound into big results. Also love that she's pursuing English honours - we need more young minds passionate about literature! 📚
Heartiest congratulations to Devina and Gahlot family! Even though MP's daughter, she worked hard. Only wish: more focus on students from ordinary backgrounds who achieve similar, because they face real struggle.
