Patna, May 1 A tense situation unfolded on Friday evening at Simri Bakhtiyarpur Railway Station when smoke suddenly began billowing from the power car of train No. 14603 Jansadharan Express, which was en route from Saharsa to Amritsar.

The incident triggered panic among passengers, leading to a brief period of chaos.

According to eyewitnesses, thick smoke rose from beneath the power car due to the brakes binding.

Alarmed by the situation, passengers immediately pulled the emergency chain, bringing the train to a halt near an overbridge.

As the train stopped, panic spread rapidly. Several passengers rushed to get off the train as a precaution, while others stayed back, trying to understand the situation.

The train's driver and guard responded promptly, while onboard railway staff used fire extinguishers in an attempt to control the smoke.

However, the smoke continued for some time, making the situation appear serious.

Railway authorities quickly alerted the local fire department.

A team from the fire brigade reached the spot and, in coordination with railway personnel, launched an operation to contain the smoke.

After sustained efforts, the situation was brought under control, averting what could have turned into a major accident.

Following the incident, the train was moved cautiously to Platform No. 1 at Simri Bakhtiyarpur Railway Station. After a brief halt, it was cleared to resume its journey.

The Jansadharan Express remained delayed for approximately 25 minutes due to the incident.

Fortunately, no casualties or injuries have been reported. However, the sudden development left passengers shaken.

Railway authorities have initiated an investigation to ascertain the exact cause of the smoke from the power car.

Preliminary indications point toward a technical issue such as brake binding, but officials are examining all possibilities.

Jansadharan Express itni important train hai Bihar se Punjab aur Haryana jaane ke liye. 25 minutes ka delay toh chhota hai, but passengers ka panic samajh aa raha hai. Railway ko regular checks karne chahiye, especially power cars mein. 😊

Railways acting in time saved the day. But I wonder how many such incidents happen that don't get reported? We need stricter oversight on train maintenance, not just after an incident. That fire extinguisher use by staff was commendable though.

Bus karo yaar ye sab. Indian Railways ka haal toh aisa hai ki everyday kuch na kuch hota hai. Brake binding ka technical issue hai toh pehle hi check karna chahiye tha. Atleast ab investigation ho rahi hai. Let's see kya nikalta hai. 🤞

Waah, railway staff ne fire extinguisher use karke situation control kiya. Respect for them! But government ko chahiye ki long-distance trains like Jansadharan Express ke liye extra safety measures implement kare. Bihar se Punjab tak travel karte waqt passengers ka koi risk na ho.

Panic situation but swift action by driver and guard. No casualties is a blessing. I hope the investigation isn't just a formality—we need real answers on why brake binding happened. Passenger safety should be non-negotiable.
