Bihar CM Samrat Choudhary inaugurates extension of Patna Metro services to Malahipakdi
Patna, July 2
Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on Thursday inaugurated the extension of Patna Metro services to Malahipakdi, nearly doubling the operational length of the city's first metro corridor.
Following the inauguration, Chief Minister Choudhary also travelled on the Patna Metro.
With the extension, metro services will now operate between ISBT and Malahipakdi, expanding the reach of the city's operational metro corridor.
Commercial operations on the first 3.2-kilometre stretch of the Patna Metro between ISBT and Bhootnath had commenced on October 6, 2025.
Meanwhile, Bihar CM Samrat Choudhary visited Miller High School at Veerchand Patel Marg in Patna on Saturday and interacted with students as part of an initiative to develop the institution as a model high school.
The school has now been designated as a model high school in the state capital, with plans for major infrastructure and academic upgrades.
During the visit, students demonstrated an AI-enabled robot developed by students of CIMAGE College, Patna. The robot responded to questions during an interactive session, including queries on governance, technology, and its own development.
When asked about the state leadership, the robot responded, "The current Chief Minister of Bihar is Samrat Choudhary. He assumed this office on April 15, 2026."
BJP MLC Nawal Kishore Yadav, who was also present, said the Chief Minister has taken a decision to adopt Miller High School for development.
"He is adopting Miller High School. Whether it's infrastructure, equipment, lab apparatus or educational tools, the government will provide everything," Yadav told ANI.
He added that directions were issued for immediate improvement works, including a grand entrance gate, renovation of the water tank, seating arrangements for students, high-mast lighting, campus cleanliness, and renovation of old buildings.
He added that the Chief Minister also instructed officials to ensure the campus reflects heritage values while being modernised into a fully equipped model school.

Great to see development happening in Bihar! The AI robot at the school was impressive though - imagining our students making such technology gives hope for our state's future. 👏
Good to see infrastructure upgrades in Bihar, but the timeline seems quite slow. From 2025 to now only 3.2 km operational? We need faster execution of such projects in India. Just my perspective as someone who works in urban planning.
The model school initiative is a great step. As someone who studied in a government school in Patna, I know how much our students lack basic facilities. Hope this is not just a photo-op and actually brings real change to Miller High School. 🙏
Metro to Malahipakdi will help thousands of daily commuters. But I wonder about the last-mile connectivity - auto rickshaw walas will charge double now knowing people need to reach home! Government should also focus on feeder buses.
Impressed by the AI robot at the school event! Students in Bihar are clearly talented. This kind of exposure to technology at the school level will prepare them for the future. Well done, CM for supporting such initiatives.
I wish the article had more details about the metro extension timeline and ticket prices. But overall, any development in Bihar is welcome.
