"A big pat on the back": Rani Mukerji expresses gratitude to actors, directors celebrating her 30-year film journey

Rani Mukerji reflects on her 30-year career, gratitude for industry love, and the success of Mardaani 3 as a tribute to India's police.

"When your colleagues love you, it is a big pat on your back. - Rani Mukerji"

Mumbai, January 31

Actor Rani Mukerji, who has received an outpouring of congratulatory messages from her industry friends and fellow actors on completing an illustrious 30-year journey in Hindi cinema, expressed heartfelt gratitude for the warm wishes.

Speaking to ANI, Rani acknowledged the greetings and admiration that she received from peers.

"I would like to thank each and every person who wished me. It is their greatness. They didn't have to do it but they did it and with so much love. They said so many good things about me. It inspires me to work even harder. When your colleagues love you, it is a big pat on your back. I would like to thank all the actors and actresses. They took out time and said so many good things about me. When an industry stands for each other, we cannot show a better thing to the world. It is a very positive way of telling the world that the industry stands together. They support each other," the 'Mardaani 3' star said.

Rani Mukerji, who has been basking in the positive response toward her latest release 'Mardaani 3', also reflected on the film's performance and called it a tribute to India's police force.

"This release was a coincidence. It was never planned. Destiny plans everything for you. Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat was my first film. My character fought with the system. After 30 years, Shivani Shivaji Roy also fighting for the truth. After 30 years, I got a chance to play a strong character. I am very happy that the audience accepted it. Because of their support, Mardaani is doing well. I want more people to go to cinemas. Whenever a film like this comes on screen, it entertains the audience and gives an important message. It empowers the girls. We salute the police force from the bottom of our hearts. We salute their bravery, passion and service. My film is a tribute to the entire police force of our country," she added.

Rani Mukerji also opened up about her love for dogs, sharing her experience of sharing the screen with the police dog squad.

"I love dogs. I have had dogs in my house since childhood. They are also very essential to the police force. Many cases are not solved without them. They are also a part of our film and have helped us solve cases," she shared.

Directed by Abhiraj Minawala and produced by Aditya Chopra, 'Mardaani 3' carries forward the franchise's legacy of hard-hitting, socially relevant storytelling. The film opened in theatres on Friday, collecting Rs 4 crore on the first day.

It's heartwarming to see the industry support each other publicly. Often we only hear about the rivalry. This positivity is a good change. Congrats Rani!

While I admire her work, I do feel the article focuses a lot on the praise and less on the actual craft that sustained a 30-year career. A deeper look at her acting choices would have been more insightful.

Her point about the industry standing together is so true. In the age of social media toxicity, this solidarity from colleagues means a lot. Also, dog lover squad represent! 🐕

She has truly evolved. From romantic dramas to taking on a franchise that tackles serious issues head-on. Mardaani inspires so many young girls, including my daughter. More such roles please!
