Back nine blitz sees Vani win 9th leg of Women's Pro Golf Tour comfortably
Hosur, July 10
The experienced Vani Kapoor sizzled with five birdies in the last 10 holes to romp home as a comfortable winner in the ninth leg of the Women's Pro Golf Tour at the Clover Greens. She added a 5-under 67 after 70-68 in the first two rounds. Vani finished at 11-under and three shots ahead of young Anvvi Dahhiya, who was trying to win her first pro event.
Amandeep Drall (68-68-72), leader through 36 holes, slipped on the final day mainly due to a bogey-double bogey lapse on the seventh and the eighth, and later another double on the 14th. She eagled the 10th but could not recover from the earlier damage.
As Vani rallied from a two-shot deficit to reach 11-under, Anvvi and Amandeep were tied for second place at 8-under in the Rs.17 lakh event played at the picturesque Clover Greens in Hosur. The field this week included 58 players, of whom 35 made the 36-hole cut.
Jasmine Shekar (72-67-70) and Nayanika Sanga (73-66-70) were tied for fourth place, while Ananya Garg (68), Jahnavi Prakhya (71), and Khushi Khanijau (70) occupied the sixth, seventh, and eighth places.
Ridhima Dilawari, a three-time winner this season, fought back from a first-round 75 with 69-70 on the last two days to tie for ninth place with another experienced player, Neha Tripathi (73), and young Lavanya Jadon (73).
Mannat Brar (67) and Durga Nittur (76) were tied for 12th, while Kashika Misra (75) and Eti Chaudhary (78) were tied for 14th.
It was Vani's first win of 2026 after having won five times in 2025, when she also won the Hero Order of Merit.
Vani, trailing by two, opened with four steady pars and then birdied the fifth, only to give that shot back with her only bogey of the day on the sixth. Then came the turnaround. She birdied the ninth and added four more on the back nine on the 11th and 12th, and then the 16th and the 18th for a day's work of 67 and a total of 11-under.
Anvvi had four birdies against one bogey in her 69, while Amandeep Drall had two double bogeys, first on the Par-4 seventh and then the Par-3 14th. She also bogeyed the eighth. She had three birdies and an eagle, but had dropped too many shots.
Jahaanvie Walia shot a hole-in-one on the 11th hole, a Par-3, as she carded 77 in another disappointing round and finished 20th.
Former WPGT Order of Merit winner Hitaashee Bakshi, hoping to find her rhythm back, carded 72-73-73 and ended T-18th.
The tenth leg of the Women's Pro Golf Tour will be held at Zion Hills Golf Course, Kolar, from July 14 to 17. The field will once again be of 58 players, including nine amateurs.

Truly inspiring performance! Vani is such a seasoned player – her composure under pressure is something young players like Anvvi Dahhiya can learn a lot from. Anvvi has a bright future ahead; almost winning her first pro event is no small feat. India's women's golf is in good hands.
Great read! Vani's back nine was absolutely clinical – five birdies in the final 10 holes to seal the deal. Also nice to see a hole-in-one from Jahaanvie Walia, even if the rest of her round wasn't great. The depth in this field is impressive with 35 players making the cut.
While the win is well-deserved, I feel Amandeep Drall's collapse on the 7th and 8th was unfortunate. She had such a strong lead through 36 holes. The double bogeys really hurt her momentum. Still, kudos to the tour – 58 players and 9 amateurs? That's real growth for women's sports in India.
Vani Kapoor is a legend in the making! Five wins in 2025 and now a confident start in 2026 – she's clearly the backbone of Indian women's golf. The prize money of Rs. 17 lakh is decent, but hopefully it increases further to attract more talent. Cheers to the next leg in Kolar! 🏌️♀️
Really happy to see such a strong field in the Women's Pro Golf Tour. Vani Kapoor's experience shone through, but I was equally impressed by the young talents like Nayan
