Ava Max joins Major Lazer and Davido for FIFA countdown concert in LA
Los Angeles, June 7
FIFA has added another major name to its growing entertainment lineup ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2026, with pop star Ava Max set to perform at the FIFA Countdown Concert in Los Angeles on June 10.
The announcement expands the roster for the highly anticipated event, which will take place at Crypto.com Arena and is being organized in collaboration with the Recording Academy.
Ava Max joins previously announced performers Major Lazer, led by Diplo, and Afrobeats star Davido as part of FIFA's pre-tournament celebrations.
According to the @FIFAWorldCup announcement, Ava Max will perform alongside Major Lazer and Davido at the Los Angeles concert, which forms part of synchronized celebrations being staged across the three FIFA World Cup 2026 host countries.
The FIFA Countdown Concert is designed to build excitement in the final days leading up to the tournament and will combine music and football on a global stage.
Organizers have confirmed that fans will be able to attend the event in person at Crypto.com Arena, while audiences worldwide can also watch the concert through a live TikTok broadcast.
The addition of Ava Max further strengthens a lineup that spans multiple genres and international markets, bringing together global pop, electronic dance music and Afrobeats talent.
FIFA said the event reflects its efforts to merge world-class sporting occasions with high-profile musical entertainment as anticipation for the tournament continues to grow.
The concert announcement comes as FIFA continues to unveil entertainment plans surrounding the World Cup.
The governing body recently confirmed that Shakira and Burna Boy will perform 'Dai Dai,' the Official FIFA World Cup 2026 Song, during the opening ceremony in Mexico City on June 11.
The performance will support the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, which aims to raise USD 100 million by the end of the tournament to expand access to quality education and football opportunities for children around the world.
The Mexico City opening ceremony will feature a broader lineup including Alejandro Fernandez, Belinda, Burna Boy, Danny Ocean, J Balvin, Lila Downs, Los Angeles Azules, Mana, Shakira and Tyla.
With the FIFA Countdown Concert set for June 10 and the tournament opener following the next day, FIFA is continuing to use music as a key part of its global celebration of football, culture and entertainment ahead of the first whistle of the 2026 World Cup.

Honestly, I'm more interested in the education fund than the concert. $100 million for children's education and football opportunities? That's a game-changer. Hope FIFA actually follows through and doesn't just use it as PR. We have so many kids in India who would benefit from such initiatives. The music lineup is okay, but the social impact is what matters. 👍
As someone who's been following football for decades, this countdown concert feels like a corporate stunt more than genuine celebration. Ava Max and Major Lazer? They're fine artists, but where's the connection to football culture? FIFA should focus on making the tournament accessible to fans worldwide instead of these flashy events. But hey, at least it's free on TikTok—I'll give it that.
Davido is the real highlight here! Afrobeats has taken the world by storm, and it's brilliant to see FIFA embracing global sounds. From Lagos to Mumbai, this music resonates with so many. But I wish they'd also include some Bollywood or K-pop artists—that would truly make it a 'world' cup celebration. Still, looking forward to seeing how the concert bridges cultures.
Cricket is life for us Indians, but football is catching up fast! These FIFA countdown concerts are a good way to introduce the sport to younger audiences. Ava Max's 'Sweet but Psycho' might get people dancing, but the real energy will come from Davido. Major Lazer's 'Lean On' is always a vibe. Let's hope India gets a team in the next World Cup—that would be the ultimate celebration! 🇮🇳🎉
