According to a release, during the meeting at her official residence, CM Sarma expressed gratitude to the Union government for its continued support to Assam over the past five years and highlighted the Centre's role in accelerating the state's developmental initiatives.

In a message shared on social media after the meeting, the Chief Minister said he thanked Finance Minister Sitharaman for the 'constant support extended to Assam' and held discussions on the state's development priorities for the coming years.

The state government has been actively pursuing large-scale infrastructure projects, industrial investments and welfare initiatives aimed at strengthening Assam's economy and improving connectivity.

Officials indicated that issues related to financial assistance, developmental projects and future investment opportunities were also part of the discussions between the two leaders.

The state has been positioning itself as an emerging economic hub in the Northeast with emphasis on infrastructure, tourism, semiconductor manufacturing, green energy and connectivity projects.

Officials said the meeting reflected Assam's efforts to strengthen collaboration with the Union government to sustain developmental momentum and expand economic opportunities across the state.

Finally some focus on the Northeast! Assam has so much potential with tea, tourism, and now semiconductor manufacturing. Let's hope the investment translates into jobs for local youth. 🍵💼

The CM and FM meeting is routine politics. What matters is execution on ground. Assam still lacks quality healthcare and education in districts outside Guwahati. Talk is cheap, action needed.

As someone from Assam, I appreciate the Centre's support but we need transparency in spending. The state's debt is rising and people are still waiting for basic amenities. Let's see the detailed roadmap.

Great to see Assam emerging as an economic hub! The semiconductor and green energy focus will be game changers. Recently visited Guwahati and the infrastructure improvement is visible. Keep it up! 👏

I just hope the development is inclusive. The Brahmaputra floods still wreak havoc every year and many villages lack proper roads. If the roadmap includes flood management and village connectivity, then it's truly meaningful.

Interesting to see Assam's progress from a global perspective. The Northeast has huge strategic importance. But I hope the investment also focuses on education and skill development to prepare the local workforce for these new industries.
