Assam CM lauds security forces on Operation Sindoor

Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma hails Indian armed forces for Operation Sindoor, warning anti-India elements of annihilation.

"Op Sindoor was a message to all those anti-India elements -- do not dare to act against India, else you will be annihilated from the face of Earth. - Himanta Biswa Sarma"

Guwahati, May 7

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said on Thursday that India will identify, track and punish every terrorist and their backers, asserting that the country's military response during "Operation Sindoor" sent a strong message to anti-India forces across the world.

In a post on social media platform X marking one year of "Operation Sindoor", Chief Minister Sarma hailed the Indian armed forces for what he described as a precise and powerful military action against terrorists and their supporters.

"India will identify, track and punish every terrorist and their backers," the Chief Minister said, adding that the operation showcased the country's strike and defence capabilities in an evolving security environment.

Referring to the military action as the "wrath of the Indian military", he said the operation was launched against elements who "dared to raise their eyes on Maa Bharti".

"With pure precision and power, not only were the terrorists and their all-weather backers eliminated, but the world also saw India's strike and defence capabilities in this evolving scenario," he added.

The Chief Minister also said that "Operation Sindoor" was a warning to all anti-India elements not to act against the country.

"Op Sindoor was a message to all those anti-India elements -- do not dare to act against India, else you will be annihilated from the face of Earth," Chief Minister Sarma said in the social media post, ending it with the slogan "Jai Hind".

The remarks come amid continued political and public discourse surrounding national security and India's response to terrorism.

Leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have repeatedly highlighted the role of the armed forces and the Centre's security policies in dealing with terror threats and safeguarding the country's sovereignty.

Chief Minister Sarma, who has often taken a strong stand on issues related to national security and terrorism, has on several occasions praised the Indian armed forces for their operations against insurgent and terror groups.

The Chief Minister's post on Thursday drew reactions from BJP supporters and social media users, many of whom lauded the armed forces and echoed patriotic sentiments online.

While I appreciate the strong stance against terrorism, I hope the operation also considered civilian safety and international law. India must be decisive but careful. Still, proud of our soldiers.

"Annihilated from the face of Earth" — that's the attitude we need! Enough of being soft on terror. Modi and Sarma are doing what should have been done decades ago. Bharat Mata Ki Jai! 🙏

As someone who follows global security, India's Operation Sindoor seems strategically sound. But I wonder if this escalates tensions unnecessarily. Sometimes quiet diplomacy works better than loud military posturing.

The CM's words fill me with pride. For too long, our enemies thought they could attack us and get away with it. Now they know: touch India, and you're finished. Our armed forces are the best! 🔥

Interesting rhetoric from the Assam CM. National security is important, but is this just political theatre to distract from other issues like inflation and unemployment? Need to see actual outcomes, not just words.

"Maa Bharti" — that's the spirit! Our culture and land are sacred. Anyone who threatens them must face the full might of the Indian military. Proud
