Ashok Saraf's wife Nivedita thanks husband for being her 'forever love' on 37th wedding anniversary
Mumbai, June 27
As they completed 37 years of marital bliss, Marathi actress Nivedita Saraf penned a note for her veteran star-husband Ashok Saraf, whom she lovingly called her "best friend, strength and forever love."
Nandita shared a collaborative post with Ashok, where she shared a string of images. In one image, the couple are seen exchanging garlands to mark their special day.
"37 years later, my heart still smiles the same way when I look at you. Thank you for being my best friend, my strength, and my forever love. Happy Wedding Anniversary," Nandita wrote as the caption.
The two cinema actors got married in 1990. They have one son together, named Aniket Saraf.
Ashok is popularly known for his work in Marathi and Hindi cinema along with theatre. He shot to fame in the 1990s and gave out hits such as 'Ashi Hi Banwa Banwi', 'Dhum Dhadaka', 'Balache Baap Brahmachari', 'Karan Arjun', and 'Aayatya Gharat Gharoba'.
However, it was his show 'Hum Paanch', which made him a household name. The show starred Vidya Balan, Rakhee Tandon, Bhairavi Raichura, and Vandana Pathak. The show followed the story of Anand Mathur and his five daughters and a dead wife.
Talking about Nivedita, she began her acting career at the age of 10 on stage and made her film debut as a child actor in the Hindi film Apnapan. She gained recognition in Marathi cinema with her first leading role in Navri Mile Navryala alongside her future husband, Ashok.
Nivedita also appeared in Hindi films such as Narsimha and King Uncle. Her 1994 film Majha Chakula earned critical acclaim and marked her last major film before a hiatus. She returned to acting in the Marathi serial Bandhan in 2006.
It was in May earlier this year, when the couple made their debut at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival.

A true power couple from Marathi cinema! Ashok Saraf's comic timing in Ashi Hi Banwa Banwi was legendary, and Nivedita's grace in her roles was always memorable. 37 years of togetherness in a film industry is rare. Shows that real love exists beyond the reels. 🎭✨
Nivedita's words are so heartwarming! 'My heart still smiles the same way' - this line hits different. In an age of 7-year itches, 37 years is like showing a masterclass in love and commitment. And how cute that they met on the sets of Navri Mile Navryala and then got married! ❤️
Lovely story! Coming from a Western perspective, it's inspiring to see such long-lasting marriages in the spotlight. My wife and I are fans of Hum Paanch (yes, we watch reruns on YouTube!), so we really appreciate this couple. Community and family values clearly matter a lot in India. Congratulations to them!
Honestly, reading this warms my heart. Both of them have given so much to Marathi and Hindi cinema. Ashok Saraf's role in Hum Paanch was legendary - Anand Mathur was literally every middle-class dad. And Nivedita's comeback after a hiatus shows her dedication. They deserve all the love. 🥂
Their Cannes debut this year was also such a proud moment for Indian cinema! Nivedita looked stunning on the red carpet. But honestly, what I admire most is how they've balanced their personal and professional lives
