Mumbai, May 21
The Men's Selection Committee of the Board of Control for Cricket in India on Thursday added the all-rounder Anukul Roy to the India A squad for the upcoming tri-series in Sri Lanka.
He replaced the left-arm spinner Harsh Dubey, who has received his maiden call-up to India's Test and ODI squads for the upcoming home series against Afghanistan, as per a media release from BCCI.
The tri-series will feature Sri Lanka A, India A and Afghanistan A, and will be played in Dambulla from June 9 to June 21, 2026.
India's star batter Tilak Varma will lead the side, whereas 15-year-old sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who is having a stellar Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 season with more than 500 runs, has already been included in the squad.
Rajasthan Royals (IPL) captain Riyan Parag has been appointed as the vice-captain for the upcoming tri-series in India.
The squad features a mix of talented and promising domestic performers, including Priyansh Arya, Ayush Badoni, Nishant Sindhu, Harsh Dubey, Suryansh Shedge, Vipraj Nigam, Yash Thakur, Yudhvir Singh, Anshul Kamboj and Arshad Khan.

Honestly, I'm worried about our A team batting. With Tilak and Riyan gone to main squad soon, who will lead? And why is Harsh Dubey being moved around like this? First Test call-up, then A team, now replaced? BCCI needs to be more consistent with player management.
15-year-old Vaibhav in India A? That's some meteoric rise! IPL 2026 has been a game-changer for so many youngsters. But let's not rush him... remember what happened to other child prodigies? Hope his technique holds up against better bowlers.
Finally some recognition for domestic performers! Nishant Sindhu, Anshul Kamboj, Yudhvir Singh - these guys have been grinding in Ranji Trophy while IPL stars get all the limelight. India A tri-series is perfect for them to show their mettle on foreign soil. 💪
Why is Prabhsimran Singh still in the squad? He's been inconsistent for Punjab and in IPL. Could have given chance to someone like Abhishek Porel or even Ishan Kishan for experience. Selection needs more logic based on current form, not past reputation.
As someone who follows Indian domestic cricket from abroad, this is an exciting squad! Riyan Parag as vice-captain shows faith in young leadership. And that pace attack - Yash Thakur, Yudhvir Singh, Anshul Kamboj - could teach the seniors a thing or two about aggression.
