Composer and singer Anu Malik revealed which song of his was loved by the late legendary actor Dharmendra.

During an exclusive conversation with IANS, Anu Malik revealed that the 'He-Man' of Bollywood was extremely fond of his song "Pal Pal Na Mane Tinku Jiya" from the movie "Yamla Pagla Deewana".

The composer added that he shares a great rapport with the Deol family, especially Sunny Deol.

Anu Malik told IANS, "I had always enjoyed an extremely homely relationship with Dharam Ji (Dharmendra). I have been very close to Sunny (Deol). I even gave the music for his second movie, 'Sohni Mahiwal'."

Sharing some fond memories, the composer added, "Dharam Ji was very fond of my music. In fact, I once came up with a playful number, "Pal Pal Na Mane Tinku Jiya", and Dharam Ji, being extremely joyful himself, used to love that song. He also loved my melodious numbers. He used to treat me, just like a family member, hence we used to meet very often."

"Given the fact that we have grown up watching and admiring his songs, I used to always be at his feet. I used to even ask him about how a particular song of his was shot. However, he did not use to say anything and used to just keep looking at me," shared Anu Malik.

He further talked about his equation with veteran actress Hema Malini, recalling her professional journey with her.

Anu Malik said, "My first association with Hema Ji was in the film 'Maarg'. Then we did 'Awaargi' together, which was again produced by Hema Ji. She has inspired me so much. She used to give constant feedback while I composed the songs. When her movie, 'Ek Chadar Maili Si' came out, she really fell in love with my music. There will never be a more beautiful person than Hema Malini."

Honestly, Anu Malik's music from the 90s was a huge part of my childhood. "Sohni Mahiwal" was a beautiful album. It's great that Dharamendra appreciated genuine talent. But I never really understood why Anu Malik faded away from the industry. Any thoughts on that?
