Mumbai, June 28
Singer and composer Anu Malik recalled his first association with veteran actress and politician Hema Malini.
Talking to IANS exclusively, Anu Malik revealed that he first got the opportunity to work with Hema Malini in the 1992 drama 'Maarg', in which she was one of the leading cast members, along with Vinod Khanna and Dimple Kapadia.
He once again joined forces with the 'Dream Girl' for the movie 'Awaargi', which was backed by Hema Malini.
Anu Malik shared that whenever they worked together, the veteran actress would give him her valuable feedback.
The composer told IANS, "My first association with Hema Ji was in the film 'Maarg'. Then we did 'Awaargi' together, which was again produced by Hema Ji. She has inspired me so much. She used to give constant feedback while I composed the songs."
Anu Malik revealed that when 'Ek Chadar Maili Si' came out, Hema Malini really fell in love with his music.
"There will never be a more beautiful person than Hema Malini," he concluded.
For those who do not know, Hema Malini is known to have backed Doordarshan serials such as 'Terah Panneh', 'Rani Laxmibai', 'Bharti', and 'Noopur'.
She is further credited with directing and producing television series such as 'Jai Mata Ki' and 'Kamini Damini'.
During the conversation, Anu Malik said that he shares a great rapport with the Deol family, especially Sunny Deol.
He told IANS, "I had always enjoyed an extremely homely relationship with Dharam Ji (Dharmendra). I have been very close to Sunny (Deol). I even gave the music for his second movie, 'Sohni Mahiwal'."
Sharing some fond memories with the late Dharmendra, the composer added, "Dharam Ji was very fond of my music. In fact, I once came up with a playful number, "Pal Pal Na Mane Tinku Jiya", and Dharam Ji, being extremely joyful himself, used to love that song. He also loved my melodious numbers. He used to treat me, just like a family member, hence we used to meet very often."

I appreciate how he studied Shammi Kapoor's style for the role. That's real dedication. But I hope he also learns to adapt to modern cinema—Mumbai's industry is cutthroat and you need more than just old-school charm. Still, kudos for the effort! 👏
First of all, why is the article titled about Anu Malik and Hema Malini when the content is about Vivaan Sharma? That's clickbait, yaar. But coming to Vivaan, finishing school before acting is a smart move. Education is the foundation, even for actors. Good luck!
A very mature approach for someone so young. I loved how he spoke about getting into the character's mindset and the director's trust. That's how good performances are born—through freedom, not force. I'll definitely watch 'Raakh' now. 😊
Honestly, with so many web series and movies flooding OTT platforms nowadays, it takes a lot to stand out. Vivaan seems sincere, but let's see if he can survive Mumbai's rat race. Praying he doesn't end up like many struggling actors we see on reality shows. 🙏
I'm glad he values education. Many parents worry when kids want to act, but this boy shows you can do both. Respect to his family for supporting him. And Prashant Sinha sounds like a fantastic director—exactly what newcomers need. All the best, Vivaan! 🌟
