Anne Hathaway's 'The End of Oak Street' gets new character posters; film to hit theatres on Aug 14
Los Angeles, July 4
The makers of actor Anne Hathaway-starrer sci-fi thriller 'The End of Oak Street' have unveiled a fresh set of character posters ahead of its theatrical release in India on August 14, offering a closer look at the film's central characters.
Warner Bros. India, on Thursday, unveiled five new character posters featuring Anne Hathaway as Denise Platt, Ewan McGregor as Greg Platt, Maisy Stella as Audrey Platt, Christian Convery as Brian Platt, and Starbuck. The posters introduce the members of the Platt family, whose seemingly ordinary suburban life is disrupted after their neighbourhood is transported to an unknown location.
Carrying the tagline, "Together is the only way through," the posters underscore the film's central theme of survival, with the Platt family forced to rely on one another as they navigate unfamiliar surroundings and search for a way forward.

Anne Hathaway is on a roll – 'The Odyssey', 'Verity', and now this! David Robert Mitchell made 'It Follows' which was amazing, so I have high hopes for this one. The concept of a whole neighbourhood being transported sounds like something straight out of a Stephen King novel. Hope the VFX holds up. @AdityaG, you're right about the Hindi release – that's smart marketing for Tier 2 cities.
Wait, it's releasing in Tamil and Telugu too? That's so inclusive! 🎉 I'm tired of Hollywood films only getting Hindi dubs. Southern audiences matter too. The cast is stellar – Ewan McGregor as the father, Maisy Stella from 'Nashville'... But honestly, I'm most excited to see how they handle the family dynamics. Indian families will definitely relate to the "together is the only way through" message. Just hope they don't make it too dark – we like some emotional depth with our sci-fi!
Good to see Warner Bros. investing in multilingual releases. But I wish they'd focus more on original storytelling rather than remaking old ideas. "Neighbourhood transported" – feels like 'The Mist' meets 'Lost'? Still, Hathaway is a solid actress and I'll give it a chance. The IMAX release is tempting. What do you all think about the August 14 date – too close to other releases?
Anne Hathaway in a sci-fi thriller? Yes please! 😍 She was amazing in 'Interstellar' and I've been waiting for her to do another genre film. The fact that it's produced by J.J. Abrams gives me hope it'll be a quality production. I love that they released character posters – gives us something to discuss and speculate about. Who else thinks the dog will be the key to survival? Indian audiences love animals in films! 🐕
