Mumbai, June 30

Television actor Angad Hasija took a trip down memory lane as he reflected on his iconic character Alekh from the hit television show 'Sapna Babul Ka... Bidaai'.

He revealed that fans continue to identify him by the beloved role even after 15 years.

Taking to his social media account, Angad shared an emotional note, expressing gratitude for the immense love that Alekh has received over the years.

The actor, who is currently seen in 'Tum Se Tum Tak', has recreated the same essence of Alekh through his new character, Yashvardhan.

Sharing a glimpse from the show, Angad wrote, "There are some characters that never leave your heart, no matter how many years pass. For me, Aalekh has always been one of them.

"When my producer, Prateek Sharma, first narrated the brief and said, 'We want the Aalekh people once loved,' I was genuinely overwhelmed. Aalekh has given me so much love, so many memories, and an unbreakable bond with all of you. Even today, so many people still call me Aalekh-and that is a blessing I will always cherish."

Getting emotional, he further said, "Coming back to this character after 15 years was an emotional journey. I was excited, but I was also nervous. Somewhere deep inside, I wondered if people would connect with him again the way they once did.

"By God's grace, the love has returned, and my heart is filled with gratitude. As an actor, nothing is more fulfilling than taking on a challenging role and seeing it embraced by the audience with so much affection.

"Thank you for loving me once again, for believing in this journey, and for making me feel that some connections truly last forever.

"Aalekh will always be a part of me... but now, it's time for Yashvardhan to create his own story."

In 'Sapna Babul Ka... Bidaai', Angad portrayed Alekh Rajvansh, a kind-hearted man with cognitive and developmental challenges.

His sensitive performance won widespread acclaim, with audiences and critics praising the actor for his splendid performance.

Produced by Rajan Shahi under Director's Kut Productions, 'Sapna Babul Ka... Bidaai' premiered on October 8, 2007, and ran successfully until November 13, 2010.

The popular family drama starred Ssara Khan, Parul Chauhan, Kinshuk Mahajan, Angad Hasija, Alok Nath, Vibha Chibber, Seema Kapoor, and Ashita Dhawan, among others.

Honestly, it's nice to see actors acknowledging the roles that made them famous. But I hope 'Tum Se Tum Tak' doesn't just rely on nostalgia—it needs its own identity. Let's see if Yash can stand out without being compared too much to Alekh. 🤔

Alekh was iconic! I remember crying my eyes out during the show. 😭 Angad brought so much depth to the character—it's rare to see such sensitive portrayals on Indian TV. Happy to see him back in action, and yes fans calling him Alekh even now is proof of his impact!

Honestly I miss the OG 'Bidaai' days—no OTT, just simple family dramas on TV. Angad's transformation as an actor is commendable. But I do hope he doesn't get typecast in similar roles forever. Hope this new character gives him more creative space. All the best!
