Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu directed officials to take urgent measures to ensure the safe return of Bhaghyavathi of Thondavada village in Chandragiri mandal of Tirupati district, who is reportedly stranded in Kuwait under difficult circumstances.

Bhaghyavathi had travelled to Kuwait in February this year in search of employment and was reportedly working as a domestic helper. However, it has come to light that agents allegedly failed to provide her with a proper work visa.

The Chief Minister's Office (CMO) responded promptly to media reports regarding the distress faced by Bhaghyavathi.

According to reports, Bhaghyavathi informed her family members and shared a selfie video on social media, alleging that she has been subjected to physical and mental harassment. She also expressed distress over being pressured to pay money when she requested to be sent back to India.

Acting on the State Government's directions, APNRT responded immediately and initiated communication with the Indian Embassy in Kuwait. Efforts are underway to prioritise the victim's safety and facilitate her immediate return to India.

The Chief Minister has also instructed officials to investigate the role of the agents involved and initiate legal action if necessary.

Meanwhile, the Tirupati district administration and Chandragiri police are maintaining constant contact with Bhaghyavathi's family members and assuring them full support.

Officials have reiterated that the State Government stands firmly with the family and will extend all possible assistance until Bhaghyavathi safely returns home.

This is heartbreaking 💔 A woman going to Kuwait for work and ending up facing harassment. The agents who send people illegally should be jailed. Our government needs to track these fraudulent recruitment agencies more strictly. All the best to Bhaghyavathi, hope she comes back soon.

The government should create a proper database of registered agents and make it mandatory for anyone going abroad for work. At least now she's getting help. Hope the embassy does its part quickly.

Our external affairs ministry should have a dedicated helpline for such cases and negotiate better protections for Indian workers. Until then, such rescue operations will keep happening.

Bhaghyavathi must be terrified right now. Sending a selfie video to her family shows how desperate she is. But why do these agents cheat people so easily? There should be stricter verification of visa documents before anyone leaves the country. And families should also check the agent's credentials properly. Hope she returns safe and sound. 🙏

I'm glad the Tirupati district administration is keeping in touch with her family. But honestly, such incidents tarnish the image of our country abroad. The agents who did this should face strict punishment under the Emigration Act. Also, women going to Gulf countries should register with the
