Amitabh Bachchan shares 'prosthetic wisdom', asks to focus on self-growth

Amitabh Bachchan shares a profound blog on 'prosthetic wisdom', advising focus on personal growth over comparison, ahead of 'Kalki 2898 AD'.

"Better to be at it than to... slink into the other humans life to acquire.. that can never be your own. - Amitabh Bachchan"

Mumbai, Feb 26

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan has shared a thought-provoking note, where he spoke about what he termed as "prosthetic wisdom" and the human tendency to misunderstand deeper truths.

Big B took to his blog, where he shared a picture of himself as the character of Ashwatthama from the upcoming film "Kalki 2".

The cine icon shared that sometimes what is written or said "goes for a bouncer," with the real meaning failing to register. He hinted that certain truths, no matter how clearly expressed, are not easily understood, adding that perhaps that is simply the way of the world.

"Isse pehle jo likha, sab ka sab bouncer gaya, Ji haan huzoor, bouncer. Kisi ko bhi jo asal baat kahi ja rahi thi, samajh mein hi nahin aayi, achha hai. Kuch baatein batane se bhi samajh mein nahin aati logon ko; sansaar ka ravayya yahi hota hai. Khair, jaane do (sic)."

Reflecting on knowledge and achievement, he wrote: "You can never be the wisest , the most knowledge driven , the most accomplished human ever .. there shall ever always be another better than you .. know it , accept it and be in learning to keep at it (sic)."

The veteran actor also underlined that it is far better to focus on one's own abilities and push oneself towards personal horizons rather than attempting to step into someone else's life to acquire what can never truly be yours.

"Better to be at it than to , slink into the other humans life to acquire .. that can never be your own .. so delve deep into your assets and drive the body to its ultimate horizon .. which incidentally never does get reached .. Oh ! what a lovely world we live in .. prosthetic wisdom (sic) !!!"

Talking about the mythological science-fiction film Kalki 2898 AD, it is by Nag Ashwin.

Kalki 2898 AD stars Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and Disha Patani. Inspired by Hindu scriptures, the film serves as the first instalment in the planned Kalki Cinematic Universe.

Set in a dystopian future in the year 2898 AD in the city of Kashi, the story follows a group on a mission to protect lab subject SUM-80's unborn child, believed to be Kalki, the final incarnation of Vishnu.

Love this! "Better to be at it than to slink into the other human's life..." So true for our generation constantly comparing ourselves on Instagram. Focus on your own journey. Can't wait to see him as Ashwatthama in Kalki! The still looks intense.

Respectfully, while the message is good, it feels a bit abstract coming from someone at the absolute peak of success. It's easier to say "there shall ever always be another better than you" when you're Amitabh Bachchan. For the average person struggling, this can sound philosophical but distant.

The part about truths going for a "bouncer" is so relatable! How many times do we misunderstand what our parents or teachers are trying to tell us until years later? Wisdom often comes with time and experience, not just hearing words.

Interesting perspective on continuous learning and self-improvement. The concept of a horizon that "never does get reached" is both daunting and beautiful. It's about the journey, not the destination. His blog is a treasure trove of such thoughts.

Perfect timing before exams! My son is so stressed about being the "best". I'm going to show him this - "there shall ever always be another better than you .. know it, accept it and be in learning to keep at it". That's the real lesson for life. ❤️
