New Delhi, Oct 21

Union Home Minister Amit Shah is likely to kick-start the BJP's campaign preparations for the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections at the party's State Executive meeting scheduled to be held on October 30-31, sources said.

HM Shah is expected to address members of the state executive as the BJP intensifies its organisational activities ahead of the crucial Assembly elections in the state.

BJP national president Nitin Nabin is also likely to participate in the meeting for a day, according to sources.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, both Deputy Chief Ministers, senior state leaders and members of the State Executive will attend the meeting.

The meeting is likely to focus on the party's organisational preparedness, election strategy and plans for the 2027 Assembly polls as the BJP seeks to accelerate its activities across the state.

In a further push to strengthen the party's grassroots organisation, HM Shah is also likely to hold meetings with booth-level workers from all regions of Uttar Pradesh in the coming weeks, sources said.

The proposed interactions are expected to provide an opportunity to engage directly with party workers at the grassroots level and review organisational activities across different regions of the state.

The State Executive meeting and the proposed booth-level interactions come as the BJP steps up preparations for the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections scheduled for 2027.

The party is expected to focus on strengthening its booth-level network and improving coordination between its state leadership and grassroots workers ahead of the electoral contest.

Meanwhile, the Congress party is eyeing 125 seats as part of an alliance with the Samajwadi Party (SP) for the upcoming Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.

With the objective of initiating seat-sharing negotiations with the SP, Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra held a three-hour meeting with Uttar Pradesh Congress leaders on Monday to discuss the allocation of seats.

According to the discussions, Congress is expected to contest around 175 seats, while the party is also considering its seat-sharing demands as part of the proposed alliance with the SP.

The opposition parties are expected to work towards finalising their electoral strategy ahead of the 2027 Assembly polls.
