Since its formation, North Eastern Council (NEC) has played an important role in the North East's development trajectory... All eight states are strengthening their planning processes in their own way towards 'Viksit 2047'. DoNER Ministry and NEC are contributing in a huge way to this," Khandu told ANI.

Amit Shah ji chairing this is a positive sign. The NEC has been around since 1971, and it's about time we see faster progress in connectivity and trade between the NE states and the rest of India. The 'Act East' policy needs this kind of regional coordination.
Interesting to see the participation from all eight states. The NEC seems like a thorough forum for planning, but I wonder how much autonomy states like Nagaland and Mizoram truly have in these meetings. Hope the decisions reflect local voices, not just central directives.
Finally, some focus on the North East! As someone from Assam, I feel the region has often been neglected in mainstream development talks. The mention of 'Viksit 2047' gives me hope, but I sincerely wish the funds and projects actually reach the grassroots, especially in rural areas. 🤞
It's good that the central government is coordinating with state CMs and governors. However, I'm cautiously optimistic—many such meetings have happened before. The real test is in execution: roads, internet connectivity, and local industry. Let's see what comes out of this 73rd plenary.
NEC has a long history, but its effectiveness has been debated. With Amit Shah now involved, I expect a more action-oriented approach. The NE is rich in culture and resources—it's time we see tangible progress in tourism and cross-border trade with Bangladesh and Myanmar. 😊
