Aditi Rao Hydari flaunts desi look at Cannes 2026
Cannes, May 16
Ever since the 2026 Cannes Film Festival kicked off, Bollywood divas have been turning heads with their stunning fashion statements at the prestigious global event.
From Alia Bhatt, Huma Qureshi, to Aditi Rao Hydari, one common thread tying their looks together is a graceful tribute to Indian tradition.
On Saturday, Aditi shared stunning pictures from the French Riviera. In the images, Aditi could be seen exuding grace in a saree that she paired with a choker necklace.
Her hair, styled in a braid, and flawlessly done makeup elevated her entire look.
"Wearing a saree... the traditional way. Revolutionary, I know," she captioned the post.
Huma was also seen in a saree. She turned heads in a traditional Banarasi saree that celebrated Indian craftsmanship on a global stage.
The 39-year-old actor shared a series of photographs on Instagram, showcasing herself in a muted plum-hued saree featuring intricate gold zari work.
She completed the look with gold temple jewellery and minimal makeup, blending traditional elegance with contemporary styling.
Sharing her thoughts on the ensemble, Qureshi wrote, "From the ghats of Banaras to the French Riviera.
"Reflecting on the significance of the attire, she added, "There's something incredibly special about wearing a weave that feels like it has lived through time."
"What I love most is how it holds two worlds at once," the actor said, referring to the blend of traditional craftsmanship and modern design elements in the saree.

Finally some real Indian representation at international events. No more trying to fit into Western stereotypes - our actresses are showing the world what true elegance looks like. The saree is not just a garment, it's our heritage. ❤️
Aditi's caption "Revolutionary, I know" is so cheeky but true 😄 While I appreciate the sentiment, I do hope this isn't just a one-off PR move. Would love to see more consistent support for Indian handlooms and weavers throughout the year, not just at festivals or Cannes. But for now, this is a beautiful start!
As someone who works in fashion, I can tell you that seeing Banarasi saree on the Cannes red carpet is a huge moment for Indian textiles. Huma Qureshi's "from ghats of Banaras to French Riviera" line gave me chills. This is soft power at its best - our culture speaking without saying a word. 🙌
While I appreciate the desi representation, I wish the media would also highlight Indian designers behind these looks instead of just focusing on the actors. The weavers in Varanasi who actually make these sarees deserve credit too. Aditi and Huma look gorgeous no doubt, but let's not forget the artisans who make our culture shine! 🧵
This is exactly what we need! Our actresses are embracing their roots and looking absolutely regal. Aditi in a saree with choker necklace is giving me major 90s Bollywood vibes
