Mumbai, June 29

Actor Adil Hussain has said that his film '52 Blue' will create empathy in people. The actor is gearing up for the screening of '52 Blue' at the upcoming edition of the London Indian Film Festival.

The actor spoke with IANS, and shared that the film will compel people to look at life in a different way.

He told IANS, "I feel that cinema of this nature, this kind of cinema introduces the world toward the nuances of a particular group of people. And, when the story manages to sort of penetrate the deeper realities of each and every character or situation from a particular part of the world, then it is almost as if you have visited that country".

"You have created a certain degree of empathy for those people. Those who watch it, it's almost like once you have gone to a country which you are made to hate and then you meet people there and you realize, 'Oh, my God, these are the similar kind of people'. And a cinema should be able to do that. '52 Blue' will create a huge amount of empathy amongst the people, those who watch it for the characters, for the situation, for the storyline. And that will serve the purpose of the film", he added.

Earlier, the actor had spoken up about the poor show put up by the USA for the ongoing FIFA World Cup 2026. The event is jointly being hosted by the USA, Mexico and Canada. Although the actor was in the USA for a personal commitment, he wasn't able to catch up with any of the matches in the states.

Empathy through cinema is a powerful idea. But I hope the film doesn't preach too much. Sometimes these 'meaningful' films become heavy-handed. Let's hope it's subtle and truly moving, not just a lecture. 🤔

Adil Hussain's point about visiting a country you're taught to hate and finding similar people - that hits deep. In today's polarized world, we need this kind of art. Hope the film gets a wider release in India too. 🇮🇳✨

Interesting perspective from Adil Hussain. Cinema bridges cultural divides indeed. I saw his work in 'Life of Pi' and 'English Vinglish' - he's versatile. Wishing '52 Blue' success at the festival! 🍀

Adil is right - cinema can create empathy. But I wish Indian media would give more coverage to such meaningful films instead of just promoting big-budget blockbusters. '52 Blue' deserves attention! 🙌

Love how Adil Hussain connects cinema to breaking down prejudices. As someone who's traveled, I know how transformative that experience is. Hope this film reaches audiences worldwide and does exactly what he describes. 🌏💙
