Following the enactment of the North-Eastern Areas (Reorganisation) Act, Manipur, Meghalaya and Tripura became individual states in 1972.

The North-Eastern Areas (Reorganisation) Act, 1971, reorganised the states in the strategic northeastern region of the country. Under this Act, Manipur and Tripura were granted statehood on January 21, 1972; whereas the state of Meghalaya was carved out from Assam due to its distinct terrain from the rest of Assam.

While the greetings are nice, I hope the focus on "growth trajectory" translates to better infrastructure, healthcare, and job opportunities on the ground in Tripura. Words are one thing, tangible development is another. Let's see more action.

It's great to see such positive messaging about a state that doesn't always get national headlines. The cultural diversity of Tripura is something every Indian should be proud of and learn about.

As someone from the Northeast, I appreciate the wishes. But sometimes it feels like we are only remembered on these special days. We need consistent policy support and investment year-round to truly add to India's growth story.
