Actor Vishnu Vishal discloses why he will continue to keep revisiting the comedy genre!

Chennai, July 2

Actor and producer Vishnu Vishal, who is gearing up for the release of his upcoming comedy entertainer, 'Gatta Kusthi 2', has now disclosed the reason why he continues to keep making comedy films and why he will continue to do so in future as well.

During a recent interaction with the media, the actor and producer was asked what had made him decide to do 'Gatta Kusthi 2', another comedy film. Responding to the question, Vishnu Vishal said, "Right from the start, I've always liked comedy. It's my favourite genre. I can watch Kamal Haasan-starrer Panchathanthiram any number of times."

He went on to add, "I want the comedy to work well. I am someone who expects the humour part of it to be fair and new. When director Chella narrated this script to me, the comedy fit in naturally in to the story."

"No matter what genre of films I do, I believe I'll do a good comedy film once or twice in a year because that's my favourite genre," he explained and went on to elaborate even further.

"When I see a family laughing in a theatre, it gives me a lot of happiness. At the end of the day, many people have a lot of worries. When we see them forgetting all that while watching a film in a theatre, clapping their hands, smiling and enjoying -- we get a different kind of satisfaction. It's good to watch a good film. But when one watches a comedy, one forgets all their worries. It gives me a lot of happiness. That's why I'll keep coming back to comedy even in the future. "

For the unaware, the censor board has already cleared director Chella Ayyavu's 'Gutta Kusthi 2', featuring Vishnuu Vishal and Aishwarya Lekshmi in the lead, for release with a clean 'U' certificate. The film is slated for release on July 3 this year.

I respect his dedication to the craft, but I hope he also explores more serious roles. Comedy is great, but versatility makes a true star. Still, Gatta Kusthi 2 looks promising, especially with Aishwarya Lekshmi. Let's see if it brings something new to the table.

His point about family laughter in theaters is so true! After all the stress of daily life, a good comedy film is like therapy. Even my grandmother loved his earlier films. More power to Vishnu Vishal for keeping the genre alive 🙌

Hope the comedy in Gatta Kusthi 2 is actually "fair and new" as he says. Too many films rely on cheap slapstick or cringe dialogues these days. If he can bring back the intelligent humor of Panchathanthiram, I'm all in! July 3 can't come soon enough.

What a refreshing take from a star! Usually they all want to do action or drama to prove their "range." Vishnu Vishal is honest that comedy is his true love, and that authenticity shows in his performances. Can't wait to take my family to this one 🎬❤️

Consistency is key in cinema. While other actors jump between genres hoping for hits, Vishnu Vishal knows his strength and sticks to it. Smart strategy, honestly. Hope Gatta Kusthi 2 delivers clean family fun with that 'U' certificate 🍿
