"Accept it with deep gratitude": Nita Ambani on being felicitated with AAPI Humanitarian Award in Florida

Florida, July 3

Reliance Foundation Founder and Chairperson Nita Ambani expresses deep gratitude after receiving AAPI Humanitarian Award in Florida.

In her acceptance speech, she said, "I accept AAPI Humanitarian Award with humility and deep gratitude. Humanitarian work is never achieved by one person alone. Behind that person is a dedicated and sincere team."

"Service is always carried by many hands, hands that heal, hands that teach, hands that comfort, hands that arrive before dawn and leave long after the world has gone to sleep. Hands that don't count hours of work, but measure the difference they can make to another life. So today, I receive this honour on behalf of the entire Reliance Foundation family. At Reliance Foundation, our guiding philosophy is very simple. We care. We care about our people, we care about India, we care about our planet," Nita Ambani added.

She also lauded the Indian-American community for preserving Indian culture while making significant contributions to American society. Referring to physicians of Indian origin, Ambani said they have earned widespread respect in the United States through their professional excellence and commitment to patient care.

The award recognises Nita Ambani's exceptional contributions across healthcare, education, sports, culture, and community development, while also acknowledging her steadfast commitment to serving society with compassion, dignity, and purpose.

In a further recognition of her humanitarian efforts, Tampa Mayor Jane Castor presented Nita Ambani with the Key to the City of Tampa, one of the highest civic honours in the United States. The symbolic honour represents the city's gratitude and its tradition of opening its doors to individuals whose contributions have made a meaningful impact on humanity.

With that said, the dual honours underscore Ambani's enduring philanthropic legacy and her efforts through the Reliance Foundation to advance inclusive development and improve the lives of communities across multiple sectors.

Nice gesture from the Indian-American community! But I hope the funds actually reach the grassroots level. Many NGOs in India still lack transparency. Just a thought.

Inspiring speech! But I wish more recognition went to smaller grassroots NGOs who work with limited resources but still make massive impact. Still, this award is well-deserved for the scale of Reliance Foundation's work.
