410 Public Representatives Mark 75 Years of Rajasthan Assembly’s Democratic Journey

The 'Amrit Utsav', commemorating the glorious 75-year democratic journey of the Rajasthan Assembly, commenced on Wednesday in the Assembly House.

Former MLAs were visibly emotional as they returned to the Assembly chamber, making the reunion of sitting and former legislators a truly memorable occasion.

The historic event attracted attention not only across Rajasthan but throughout the country, with public representatives and dignitaries praising Speaker Vasudev Devnani for his unique initiative.

Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan described the initiative undertaken by Speaker Vasudev Devnani as truly unique, calling the gathering of sitting and former MLAs a "historic occasion".

He noted that the event rose above partisan politics, with legislators from all political parties describing it as an unforgettable experience.

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla hailed the event as a legislative 'Mahakumbh' of public representatives.

He said Speaker Vasudev Devnani's positive vision in conceptualising and organising such a grand gathering deserved the highest appreciation.

Calling the occasion extraordinary, Om Birla added that it was the first event of its kind in the history of the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly.

MLAs and former MLAs from across the state expressed their delight at participating in the historic reunion. They unanimously praised Devnani's initiative, describing the event as memorable and unprecedented.

A total of 410 public representatives attended the first-of-its-kind gathering in the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly.

The participants included 237 former MLAs, 163 sitting MLAs, and 10 additional former MLAs who joined despite not having pre-registered.

During the event, former and sitting legislators reflected on the Assembly's rich democratic traditions, shared their experiences, recalled their contributions to public life, and offered suggestions for strengthening the institution in the years ahead.
