This is how you build a strong national team! Junior tournaments with this kind of structure ensure no talent gets left behind. Dilip Tirkey's leadership has been transformative for Indian hockey. Excited to see which state produces the next big star from this championship!
As someone who follows international hockey, this development is really impressive. India's investment in grassroots women's hockey is paying dividends - look at their recent Olympic performances. This structured pathway from Division C to A will only strengthen their bench depth. Well done Hockey India!
Three divisions with promotion and relegation - this is a proper professional setup! 👏 The fact that 30 teams are participating shows how much hockey has spread across the country. Maharashtra hosting another major tournament is no surprise either - the state's hockey infrastructure is world-class.
So happy to see teams from Northeast India - Manipur, Mizoram, and Arunachal - participating! They have so much raw talent. The only concern is the schedule is quite packed for August with school exams approaching. Hope the organizers have considered the players' academic commitments. But otherwise, this is a great initiative!
The relegation/promotion system is smart - it keeps every match meaningful, even for teams that can't win the title. That's how you maintain competitive integrity throughout the tournament. India's hockey administration deserves credit for modernizing its domestic structure like this.
