100-Foot Tricolour Symbolises Patriotism and National Unity: Gujarat Deputy CM

A 100-foot national flag was installed in Mota Varachha, Gujarat, during a Kargil Vijay Diwas event chaired by Deputy CM Harsh Sanghavi. He described the flag as a symbol of patriotism, national unity, courage, and pride, inspiring future generations. The ceremony included the unveiling of a Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel statue and floral tributes to martyrs. Several MLAs and Sudama Charitable Trust members attended the event.

A grand Kargil Vijay Diwas programme was held at Ram Chowk in Mota Varachha under the chairmanship of Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi.

A 100-foot national flag, symbolising national pride and patriotism, was installed on this occasion, a release said.

Addressing the gathering, Dy CM said that the "100-foot National Flag is not just a flagpole but a symbol of patriotism, national unity, courage, and pride in the nation."

"He said the initiative marks a proud moment for the entire region and will inspire future generations with the spirit of nationalism," it added.

On the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas, he also congratulated the citizens, students, and people who had gathered on Sunday morning to witness this historic event.

Following the flag hoisting ceremony, Dy CM and other dignitaries unveiled a statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and paid floral tributes to the nation's brave hearts. On this occasion, those present reaffirmed their commitment to upholding the pride of the Tricolour and strengthening the spirit of patriotism and national unity.

The event was attended by Minister of State for Health Praful Pansheriya, MLAs Mukesh Patel, LH Zala, Rajdeepsinh Nakum, and Kanjibhai Bhalala, along with office-bearers and members of the Sudama Charitable Trust, Mota Varachha.

It's great to see such initiatives, but we must also ensure that the flag is maintained properly and not left to fray like we see in some places. Symbolism is important, but action follows. Respect the Tiranga!

Nice to see local leaders honouring Kargil heroes. But I hope more funds go to veteran welfare and border infrastructure rather than just flags. Still, a positive gesture.

I wish they'd also acknowledge the role of ordinary citizens who keep national unity alive daily. But the flag hoisting and Sardar Patel statue are nice symbols. Let's hope we focus on real unity too.
