Mumbai, April 25

An ulcer detected in the mouth of NCP President Sharad Pawar has been removed successfully by medicos, a top party official said here on Sunday.

Pawar is now recuperating and will resume his normal schedule soon, said Nationalist Congress Party spokesperson and Maharashtra Minorities Affairs Minister Nawab Malik.

The ulcer was detected when Pawar, 80, underwent back-to-back procedures for a problem in his gall bladder.

"Post gall-bladder surgery of Pawar saheb, a follow up visit and check-up at hospital revealed an ulcer in his mouth which has been successfully removed," he added.

Now, Pawar is recuperating well and resting in hospital.

He is also taking stock of the pandemic situation daily and will resume his activities soon, Malik said.
