I auditioned for small role, but got the lead: Gaurav Kapoor

Mumbai, Jan 7 : Channel V's popular veejay Gaurav Kapoor will play the leading role for the first time in the comedy 'Badluck Govind' and says he got it by sheer luck.

"This is for the first time I am playing the lead role in a movie. The film is all about luck and I also got the role in an unusual way. Director Varun Khanna had chosen me for the supporting role, but during the meeting he found my style appropriate for the leading role and finalised me for the same", said Gaurav who worked as a VJ for V Channel for almost six years.

"Bad Luck Govind" also stars Hrishita Bhatt, Parmeet Sethi, Vrajesh Hirjee, Govind Namdeo and Zakir Hussain.

The film is about luck, but Gaurav says luck is not everything in life.

"Luck plays an important role in everyone's life, but it is not everything. If one works hard and believes positively then luck changes for him. We are carrying the same message in the film," said Gaurav.

Earlier, Gaurav was seen in small roles in films like "Darna Mana Hai", "Sssshh" and "Chai Paani".

"After working as VJ for almost six years, I thought of taking acting seriously and many films happened consequently, but I hope 'Badluck...' brings good luck to me."

Gaurav loves action too and would love to participate in an action-based reality show like "Fear Factor".

"I loved the format of the show and want to participate in it if Akshay Kumar anchors it. Akshay is full of energy and he inspires me a lot. I respect his dedication towards his work," said Gaurav.

Gaurav says he would also love to anchor reality shows.

"I am now concentrating on films and wouldn't like to do television. But, if there is an offer to anchor a reality show, I may do it. I have liked 'Nach Baliye' and I think as an anchor I will be adding some extra elements in it," he said.
