Turnip Pickle Recipe

Ingredients:

• ¾ Kg Turnip

• 1½ Cup Mustard Oil

• 15 Cloves Garlic

• 1 Cup Vinegar

• 1 Cup Sugar

• 20 Dry Dates

• 10 Tsp Seedless Raisins

• 2 Tsp Peppercorn

• 4 Tsp Chili Powder

• 1 Tsp Onions Seeds

• 1 Tsp Cumin Seeds

• Salt for Taste

Method:

• Fry all spices and grind them together along with sugar.

• Grind the garlic into paste.

• Grind separately dates and raisins with little vinegar.

• Peel the outer skin of turnips and cut them into thick round slices

• Rub salt on the turnips and keep for 8 hours.

• Fry the garlic paste in heated oil till golden brown.

• Add turnips and fry till dry.

• Add vinegar, spices, dates and raisins’ mixture.

• Place the pickle in an airtight jar and use after 6 days.
